Perm State University Shooting
On 20 September 2021, a mass shooting occurred at Perm State University, in the city of Perm, Perm Krai, Russia. Six people were killed and 47 others were injured. The attacker, identified as 18-year-old Timur Bekmansurov, was arrested after being wounded by police. Background The shooting occurred roughly four months after another school shooting in Kazan, Russia, in which nine people were killed. In the aftermath of that shooting, the legal age to buy a gun in Russia was increased from 18 to 21, but the law was not yet in effect at the time of the Perm shooting. Authorities had blamed previous school shootings on foreign influence from news of similar incidents in the United States and elsewhere. Kerch Polytechnic College Massacre
The Kerch Polytechnic College massacre was a school shooting and bomb attack that occurred in Kerch, Crimea, on 17 October 2018. 18-year-old student Vladislav Roslyakov killed 20 people and wounded 70 others before committing suicide. It was the deadliest school attack in the former Soviet Union since the 2004 Beslan school siege. Attack Vladislav Roslyakov purchased a shotgun on 8 September 2018 and bought 150 rounds legally at a gun shop on 13 October 2018. He entered the grounds of Kerch Polytechnic College on 17 October 2018 at about 11:45 a.m. and shortly after began shooting. On 26 September 2022, a mass shooting occurred at a school in Izhevsk, Udmurtia, in west-central Russia. Eighteen people were killed and 23 others were wounded before the gunman, identified as Artem Kazantsev, committed suicide. Events The mass shooting occurred at School No. 88 () in Izhevsk, Udmurtia, Russia at around 10:52 AM. Armed with two pistols and a large supply of ammunition, the gunman, Artem Kazantsev, entered the school and opened fire on several classrooms.
