Perikles Ioannidis
Perikles Ioannidis ( el, Περικλής Ιωαννίδης; 1 November 1881 – 7 February 1965) was a Greek admiral. Ioannidis became the second husband of Princess Maria. They were married in Wiesbaden, Germany on 16 December 1922. They reputedly met when Maria travelled back to Greece from exile in 1920 on board a destroyer that Ioannidis was commanding. Princess Maria of Greece and Denmark () (russian: Мария Георгиевна; 3 March O.S. 20 February">Old_Style_and_New_Style_dates.html" ;"title="nowiki/>Old Style and New Style dates">O.S. 20 February1876 – 14 December 1940) was a daughter of King George I of Greece and his wife Grand Duchess Olga Constantinovna of Russia. She was a sister of King Constantine I of Greece and a first cousin of Tsar Nicholas II of Russia. Born as a princess of Greece and Denmark, she was educated in Athens by private tutors. Her father instilled in her a great love for Greece and throughout her life, she remained a fervent patriot.
