Perfect Distraction
''Perfect Distraction'' is the second studio album by Australian punk rock band Something with Numbers. It was released on 7 October 2006 and is credited as the album which gave the band their commercial break through, featuring the hit single, "Apple of the Eye (Lay Me Down)" and peaking on the ARIA Albums Chart at number 37. The album features three songs that were released as singles. The first and most popular being " Apple of the Eye (Lay Me Down)". "Apple of the Eye" peaked at number 34 on the ARIA singles chart, and placed number 64 on the Triple J Hottest 100, 2006. Below Par Records is an Australian independent record label established in 2000 by three sixteen-year-old Sydney high-school students, Jai Al-Attas, Mark Catanzariti and Steven Chalker. Engineering The Soul
''Engineering the Soul'' is the third studio album by Australian punk rock band Something with Numbers. It was released through Below Par Records on 6 September 2008. In reference to the title of the album, lead vocalist of Something with Numbers Jake Grigg said, "Music is what powers the soul. We make the music. We are ''engineering the soul''". The first song off the album to be released to radio airplay was " Stay with Me Bright Eyes". It was released as a CD single in stores and as a digital download on 28 June 2008. It reached number 52 on the ARIA Chart and received airplay on Australian music television network, Channel V. The first pressing of the album came with a bonus DVD featuring the "Stay with Me Bright Eyes" video and 'Behind the Scenes', the 12 min ''Engineering the Soul'' EPK, plus all the videos for the singles from SWN's previous album. Apple Of The Eye (Lay Me Down)
An apple is an edible fruit produced by an apple tree (''Malus domestica''). Apple trees are cultivated worldwide and are the most widely grown species in the genus ''Malus''. ARIA Albums Chart
The ARIA Charts are the main Australian music sales charts, issued weekly by the Australian Recording Industry Association. The charts are a record of the highest selling songs and albums in various genres in Australia. ARIA became the official Australian music chart in June 1988, succeeding the Kent Music Report, which had been Australia's national music sales charts since 1974. Triple J Hottest 100, 2006
The 2006 Triple J Hottest 100 was announced on Australia Day, 26 January 2007. It is the fourteenth such countdown of the most popular songs of the year, as voted by listeners of the Australian radio station Triple J. Voting began on 1 January 2007, and closed on 21 January. 671,024 votes were counted in this year's poll. The broadcast began at 10 a.m., and at midday, crossed to Hyde Park in Sydney for a live broadcast of the countdown, beginning at #75. The top 10 was announced from 6 p.m. by breakfast team Myf Warhurst and Jay and the Doctor. The broadcast was also the first time the Hottest 100 had a live video webcast through the Triple J Website, showing film clips of each video and live footage from Hyde Park. Channel '' ("V" standing for the letter, not the Roman numeral "5") is a Chinese and former Asian pay television musical network originally launched by Star TV Hong Kong (now Fox Networks Group Asia Pacific). It was part of the unit of Disney International Operations, and was launched back in September 1991 to replace the first incarnation of MTV's Asian operation before it was shutdown on October 1, 2021. The Mainland Chinese version is later owned by Star China Media, and is still operational, since they're a subsidiary of China Media Capital. The Australian channels were later owned by Foxtel before their closure.
