Perdita (moon)
Perdita is an inner satellite of Uranus. Perdita's discovery was complicated. The first photographs of Perdita were taken by the ''Voyager 2'' spacecraft in 1986, but it was not recognized from the photographs for more than a decade. In 1999, the moon was noticed by Erich Karkoschka and reported. But because no further pictures could be taken to confirm its existence, it was officially demoted in 2001. However, in 2003, pictures taken by the Hubble Space Telescope managed to pick up an object where Perdita was supposed to be, finally confirming its existence. Following its discovery in 1999, it was given the temporary designation of S/1986 U 10. It was named Perdita (Latin for 'lost') after the daughter of Leontes and Hermione in William Shakespeare's play ''The Winter's Tale''. The moon is also designated Uranus XXV. Erich Karkoschka
Erich Karkoschka (born 1955) is a planetary researcher at the Lunar and Planetary Laboratory of the University of Arizona. He discovered a satellite of Uranus, S/1986 U 10 (later named Perdita (moon), Perdita) on photographs taken by the Voyager 2 spacecraft. He has assembled a number of movies including: the Huygens (spacecraft), Huygens landing on the moon Titan (moon), Titan, the seasonal patterns on Uranus, and a rare triple eclipse on Jupiter. The Jupiter and Uranus images were released as US postage stamps in 2016. His book, ''The Observer's Sky Atlas'', has been translated into several languages as a resource for those interested in observing the sky. An asteroid, 30786 Karkoschka (1988 QC), is named in his honour. References

Puck (moon)
Puck is an inner moon of Uranus. It was discovered in December 1985 by the ''Voyager 2'' spacecraft. The name ''Puck'' follows the convention of naming Uranus's moons after characters from Shakespeare. The orbit of Puck lies between the rings of Uranus and the first of Uranus's large moons, Miranda. Puck is approximately spherical in shape and has diameter of about 162 km. It has a dark, heavily cratered surface, which shows spectral signs of water ice. Discovery and naming Puck—the largest inner moon of Uranus—was discovered from the images taken by ''Voyager 2'' on 30 December 1985. It was given the temporary designation S/1985 U 1. Moons Of Uranus
Uranus, the seventh planet of the Solar System, has 27 known moons, most of which are named after characters that appear in, or are mentioned in, the works of William Shakespeare and Alexander Pope. Uranus's moons are divided into three groups: thirteen inner moons, five major moons, and nine irregular moons. The inner and major moons all have prograde orbits, while orbits of the irregulars are mostly retrograde. The inner moons are small dark bodies that share common properties and origins with Uranus's rings. The five major moons are ellipsoidal, indicating that they reached hydrostatic equilibrium at some point in their past (and may still be in equilibrium), and four of them show signs of internally driven processes such as canyon formation and volcanism on their surfaces. Cupid (moon)
Cupid is an inner satellite of Uranus. It was discovered by Mark R. Showalter and Jack J. Lissauer in 2003 using the Hubble Space Telescope. It was named after a character in William Shakespeare's play ''Timon of Athens''. It is the smallest known inner Uranian satellite, crudely estimated to be only about 18 km in diameter. This and the dark surface made it too dim to be detected by the ''Voyager 2'' cameras during its Uranus flyby in 1986. The orbit of Cupid differs only by 863 km from the orbit of the larger moon Belinda. Unlike Mab and Perdita, Uranian satellites also discovered in 2003, it does not seem to be perturbed. Portia (moon)
Portia is an inner satellite of Uranus. It was discovered from the images taken by ''Voyager 2'' on 3 January 1986, and was given the temporary designation S/1986 U 1. The moon is named after Portia, the heroine of William Shakespeare's play ''The Merchant of Venice''. It is also designated Uranus XII. Portia is the second-largest inner satellite of Uranus after Puck. The Portian orbit, which lies inside Uranus' synchronous orbital radius, is slowly decaying due to tidal deceleration. The moon will one day either break up into a planetary ring or hit Uranus.
