John Percy Simon (born July 9, 1969), better known by his stage name Percee P, is an American rapper from The South Bronx, New York City. ''Unkut'' described him as the "legendary lyricist of the subterranean". Career In 2007, Percee P released his debut studio album, ''Perseverance'', on Stones Throw Records. Entirely produced by Madlib, it featured guest appearances from Aesop Rock, Chali 2na, Diamond D, Guilty Simpson, and Prince Po. He has also collaborated with a number of musicians, including Lord Finesse, Kool Keith, Jurassic 5, and Jedi Mind Tricks. Byron Dwayne “Guilty” Simpson is an American rapper and songwriter from Detroit, Michigan whose recording career spans more than 20 years. He is signed to Stones Throw Records, and is known for being one of the late producer J Dilla’s favorite rappers. Simpson’s debut album, ''Ode to the Ghetto'', includes production from J Dilla, as well as from Madlib and Black Milk; all three have been frequent collaborators of his. ''Music for Earthworms'' is American hip hop artist Aesop Rock's debut album. The album was recorded during summers and other occasions on which Aesop Rock would return home to New York City from college at Boston University. It was mostly recorded in a Manhattan studio where Dub-L and Plain Pat were working as interns. Although the studio was not typically used as a recording studio, it was equipped with impressive technology for the time, including Digital Audio Tape machines, ADAT machines and CD drives capable of burning discs. Aesop Rock's vocals were recorded on an SM58 microphone. ''Music for Earthworms'' was ultimately self-distributed. The ''Cenobites'' LP is the eponymous debut album by the American hip hop duo the Cenobites, composed of rapper Kool Keith and producer Godfather Don. It was first released as an EP in 1995 via Fondle 'Em Records and was later expanded for LP in 1997 and CD in 2000. Percee P and Bobbito Garcia made guest appearances on the record. History In 1992, South Bronx innovators Ultramagnetic MC's recruited little known MC/ producer Godfather Don to assist them on their third LP, ''The Four Horsemen''. The dark, jazzy sound he contributed was something of a departure for the group, which was known for its futuristic funk. Jedi Mind Tricks (JMT) are an American underground hip hop group from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, founded in 1996 by two high school friends, rapper Vinnie Paz (Vincenzo Luvineri) and producer Stoupe the Enemy of Mankind (Kevin Baldwin). In 1999, rapper Jus Allah joined the group to record their second studio album, ''Violent by Design''. Jus left the group shortly after, but returned in late 2006 and began working on the sixth studio album, ''A History of Violence (album), A History of Violence''.
