Perbaungan is a town and a district in Serdang Bedagai Regency, part of North Sumatra province, Indonesia. Perbaungan serves as the gateway city when entering Serdang Bedagai Regency from the direction of Medan. Sultanate Of Serdang
The Sultanate of Serdang () was an ancient Malay-Indonesian monarchy, Serdang was founded in 1723 and joined the Republic of Indonesia in 1946. The Sultanate separated from Sultanate of Deli after a dispute over the royal throne in 1720. Like other kingdoms on the east coast of Sumatra, Serdang prospered because of the opening of tobacco, rubber and oil palm plantations. History Establishment of the Sultanate of Deli According to history, an Laksamana from Sultan Iskandar Muda Aceh named Sri Paduka Gocah Pahlawan, have a title Laksamana Khoja Bintan, married to the younger brother of Raja Urung (state) Sunggal, a Karo Tribal area that already converted to Islam. Serdang Bedagai Regency
Serdang Bedagai Regency is a regency in the Eastern shores of North Sumatra facing Malaysia, with 95 km of coastline and covering an area of 1,900.22 square kilometres, divided into seventeen districts (''kecamatan''), in turn subdivided into 243 villages (237 rural ''desa'' and 6 urban ''kelurahan''). Its seat is Sei Rampah. The regency surrounds the independent city of Tebing Tinggi, and also contains a district (kecamatan) by the same name (Tebing Tinggi District surrounds the city on its west side, while Tebing Syahbandar District surrounds the city on its east side). The name “Serdang Bedagai” was derived from the two Sultanates which formerly existed in the Region; they were Serdang Sultanate and Padang Bedagai Sultanate. North Sumatra ( id, Sumatra Utara) is a province of Indonesia located on the northern part of the island of Sumatra. Its capital and largest city is Medan.
