Perana Performance Group
The Perana Performance Group is a South African car developer located in Port Elizabeth. It is the second manufacturer that uses the ''Perana'' brand name after the famous Basil Green Motors. The company was founded in late 2007. The cars are manufactured in the Hi-Tech plant of Hi-Tech Automotive & Superformance. By 2012 Superformance partnered with AC Cars and the Perana was renamed the AC 378 GT Zagato. Reportedly there are about ten pre-production models completed. Gqeberha (), formerly Port Elizabeth and colloquially often referred to as P.E., is a major seaport and the most populous city in the Eastern Cape province of South Africa. It is the seat of the Nelson Mandela Bay Metropolitan Municipality, South Africa's second-largest metropolitan district by area size. Basil Green Motors (VIN: BG) is a former car manufacturer and racing team which is located in Edenvale, Gauteng near Johannesburg, South Africa. The company has specialised in Ford vehicles, in which the manufacturer's models are recognised by the brand name ''Perana'' added to the model name. The name Perana is a deliberate misspelling, as ''Piranha'' already had been protected. Currently the company is active as a dealer of Ford and Mazda vehicles. Founded in 1967 by Basil Green the company dealt with engine tuning of Ford vehicles and participated in a variety of races as racing team. After winning several races the Ford Motor Company became aware of the company and used the company for some of the South African models as a kind of in-house tuner. Superformance LLC (Superformance Replicars) is an American automobile company that builds, designs, develops, engineers and markets sports cars, related performance components and full replicars. The company was founded as "Superformance International Inc." by Hi-Tech Automotive Ltd. in 1996. Today, Superformance has 15 authorized dealers in the United States and 6 international dealers.
