Per Bang
Per Bang (29 November 1922 – 24 April 2010) was a Norwegian journalist. He worked in ''Dagens Næringsliv'' from 1946 to 2006, and became known for his column ''På nattbordet''. Career He was born in Oslo, and was a bookseller's apprentice when World War II broke out. In 1943 he was taken as a "hostage" by the Nazi German occupants of Norway, imprisoned at Bredtveit concentration camp from 27 February to 5 April and then at Grini concentration camp to 20 December 1943. After the war he considered finishing secondary education, but instead worked in the newspaper ''Jarlsberg'' from 1945 to 1947. In 1946 he was hired in ''Norges Handels og Sjøfartstidende'', later named ''Dagens Næringsliv'', where he worked until 2006, from 1956 to 1974 as London correspondent. He was formally a freelancer since 1989, and when retiring he was one of Norway's oldest active journalists. ''Adresseavisen'' (; commonly known as ''Adressa'') is a regional newspaper published daily, except Sundays, in Trondheim, Norway. The paper has been in circulation since 1767 and is one of the oldest newspapers after Norske Intelligenz-Seddeler which was launched in 1763. ''Adresseavisen'' is owned by Polaris Media, in which Schibsted controls 29% of the shares. History and profile The newspaper was first published on 3 July 1767 as ''Kongelig allene privilegerede Trondheims Adresse-Contoirs Efterretninger'', making it the oldest Norwegian newspaper still being published. Grini Concentration Camp Survivors
Grini is a district in northeastern Bærum, Norway. Concentration camp The name Grini is best known from the concentration camp of the same name, but this camp lay further west and had no actual connection to the Grini area. History The name Grini is a variant of ''Granvin'' ( a placename used elsewhere), and stems from spruce trees in the area. The Old Norse form was Grǫnin. The farm Grini is known at least since 1348, when it was parted into a northern and a southern part. Both farms belonged to the Church of Norway, but the crown usurped the property following the Protestant Reformation. The dwelling house was erected in 1658, three years before the property was sold from the crown to a private person. Between the mid-seventeenth century and the mid-nineteenth century the property was owned by the Leuch, Anker and Wedel-Jarlsberg families. Bredtveit Concentration Camp Survivors
Bredtvet is a neighborhood in the borough of Bjerke in Oslo, Norway. The area is located on a ridge between the neighborhoods of Veitvet to the west and Kalbakken to the east. Its origin was as a farm of the same name. It is not mentioned in writings from the Middle Ages, but was at one time Crown land. Its first private owner is registered in 1662, and from 1817 to 1824 it was owned by Hans Nielsen Hauge.
