People Who Travel (1938 French-language Film)
''People Who Travel'' (French: ''Les Gens du voyage'') is a 1938 French-German film directed by Jacques Feyder. The film was a co-production with a separate German version '' Travelling People'' also released. It is a circus film. It was shot at the Bavaria Studios in Munich. The film's sets were designed by the art director Jean D'Eaubonne. Plot Due to an accident at the Barlay Circus, animal trainer Flora finds Fernand, a former prison escapee, and refers him to manager, Edouard Barlay. The son of Flora (and Fernand), Marcel, does the acrobatics with the manager's daughters, Suzanne and Yvonne. In love with the latter, Suzanne becomes jealous. Squire Pepita is also interested in the young man. Jacques Feyder
Jacques Feyder (; 21 July 1885 – 24 May 1948) was a Belgian actor, screenwriter and film director who worked principally in France, but also in the US, Britain and Germany. He was a director of silent films during the 1920s, and in the 1930s he became associated with the style of poetic realism in Cinema of France, French cinema. He adopted French nationality in 1928. Career Born Jacques Léon Louis Frédérix in Ixelles, Belgium, he was educated at the École régimentaire in Nivelles, and was destined for a military career. At age twenty-five however he moved to Paris where he pursued an interest in acting, first on stage and then in film, adopting the name Jacques Feyder. He joined the Gaumont Film Company and in 1914 he became an assistant director with Gaston Ravel. Camilla Horn
Camilla Martha Horn (25 April 1903 – 14 August 1996) was a German dancer and a film star of the silent and sound era. She starred in several Hollywood films of the late 1920s and in a few British and Italian productions. Biography The daughter of a civil servant, Horn was educated as a dressmaker and worked at Erfurt. In 1925, together with Marlene Dietrich, she worked as an extra in the German film '' Madame Wants No Children'', and later she was seen in a musical review by director Alexander Korda. Hans Philipp August Albers (22 September 1891 – 24 July 1960) was a German actor and singer. He was the biggest male movie star in Germany between 1930 and 1960 and one of the most popular German actors of the twentieth century. ''Genre'' is a 1996 animated meta-comedy short film by animator Don Hertzfeldt, his second 16mm student film, produced at the age of 19. The 16mm short combines traditional animation, pixilation, and stop-motion animation to present a cartoon rabbit careening through a variety of rapidly changing film genres as his animator struggles to come up with a good idea. Release The cartoon received 17 awards from film festivals. In 1996 it screened nationwide in theaters as part of the Spike and Mike's Festival of Animation tour. In 1997, it was shown on an episode of MTV's Cartoon Sushi.
