People Party (Thailand)
The People Party is an Islamist party in Egypt which is part of the Anti-Coup Alliance. History and profile On 8 October 2012 the Egyptian Salafist Front proposed the creation of a new political party, to be named the People Party. The party was established on 20 October 2012. According to Ahmed Mawlana, the official party spokesman, the People Party will deal with issues that it perceives to be neglected by other Islamic parties, such as "the Nubians’ rights, as well as those of farmers and workers". Political program The People Party prioritizes seeking justice and identity. Individuals and groups that overuse government resources are not appreciated. Identity is paramount, with a special emphasis on cultural, economic, and political independence. Subsidized education is encouraged. Anti-Coup Alliance
The Anti-Coup Alliance (also known as the National Alliance Supporting Legitimacy) is a coalition in Egypt formed to reverse the ouster of former president Mohamed Morsi. The coalition is made up of approximately 40 Islamist parties and groups. History The coalition has called upon the opposition to break ties with figures they call "corrupt" from the Mubarak regime. Notably, the political wing of the group (the Building and Development Party) and the Wasat Party did not take part in protests held by pro-Morsi forces during the week of 18 October 2013. The House of Representatives ( ar, مجلس النواب, Maglis El Nowwab) is the lower house of Egypt's bicameral parliament. Formation of the House The 2014 constitution that was passed in the 2014 constitutional referendum has put into place the following rules: the House that is elected following the ratification of the constitution must have at least 450 members. In addition, prospective members must be Egyptian, must be at least 25 years old and must hold an education certificate. Also, the president can appoint, at the most, five percent of the members in the chamber. The House sits for a five-year term but can be dissolved earlier by the president. Salafist Front
The Salafist Front is an Egyptian Salafi Islamist organization that was founded after the 2011 Egyptian revolution after breaking away from the Salafist Call. It has been called "one of the largest Salafist associations in the Middle East". The organization was part of the Anti-Coup Alliance, though it announced on 4 December 2014 that it had withdrawn from the alliance. It has also been described as one of the most revolutionary Islamist movements in Egypt. The spokesperson of the front, Khaled Saeed, was a member of the Virtue Party. The Salafist Front backed Hazem Salah Abu Ismail in the 2012 presidential election in Egypt. The organization launched the People Party in 2012. The front has called for protests on 28 November 2014.
