Adam Perez Diaz
Adam Perez Diaz (September 2, 1909 – March 5, 2010) was the first Hispanic elected to the Phoenix City Council and also the first Hispanic to serve as Phoenix's Vice-Mayor. Diaz was appointed to the National Council on Aging by President Bill Clinton. Díaz was among the first seven recipients of the Profiles of Success Hispanic Leadership Award's in the Hall of Fame category. Early years Diaz was born to José Perez (1866–1927) and Soledad Díaz Palacios (1875–1962) in Flagstaff, Arizona. He was the second of five siblings born to Jose and Soledad. His parents fled from Mexico in 1908 because they feared that Mexican dictator Porfirio Díaz would condemn them for their support of an armed insurrection against him. McNary ( apw, Chaabiitú) is a census-designated place (CDP) in Apache and Navajo counties in the U.S. state of Arizona, on the Fort Apache Indian Reservation. The population was 528 at the 2010 census. It is a 30-minute drive from Show Low and a 10-minute drive from Pinetop-Lakeside. Geography McNary is located at (34.076687, -109.854674). Ann Leila Kirkpatrick (born March 24, 1950) is an American politician and retired attorney serving as the United States representative from since 2019. A member of the Democratic Party, she represented from 2009 to 2011 and again from 2013 to 2017. Kirkpatrick was a member of the Arizona House of Representatives from 2005 to 2007. First elected to Congress in 2008 in , Kirkpatrick was unseated in 2010. She regained her seat in a close race in 2012 and was reelected in 2014. Kirkpatrick ran for U.S. Senate in 2016 and was defeated by incumbent Republican John McCain. In 2018, she was elected to Congress in ; she was reelected in 2020. Winnemucca, Nevada
Winnemucca () is the only incorporated city in, and is the county seat of, Humboldt County, Nevada, United States. As of the 2010 census, the city had a total population of 8,431, up 14.0 percent from the 2010 census figure of 7,396. Interstate 80 passes through the city, where it meets U.S. Route 95. History and culture The town was named for the 19th-century Chief Winnemucca of the local Northern Paiute tribe, who traditionally lived in this area. Winnemucca, loosely translated, means "one moccasin." The chief's daughter, Sarah Winnemucca, was an advocate for education and fair treatment of the Paiute and Shoshone tribes in the area.
