José Ignacio Ceniceros
José Ignacio Ceniceros González (born 11 May 1956) is a Spanish politician and member of the People's Party (PP). Ceniceros, who previously held the position of President of the Parliament of La Rioja from 1999 to 2015, served as the President of La Rioja from 2015 to 2019. Ceniceros' People's Party (PP) had retained a slim majority in the 2015 Riojan regional election on 24 May 2015, but lost five seats. Ceniceros listed the creation of higher quality jobs for Riojans as his top priority during his tenure as president. 1995 Riojan Regional Election
The 1995 Riojan regional election was held on Sunday, 28 May 1995, to elect the 4th General Deputation of the autonomous community of La Rioja. All 33 seats in the General Deputation were up for election. The election was held simultaneously with regional elections in twelve other autonomous communities and local elections all throughout Spain. For the first time, the People's Party (PP) emerged as the largest party in the General Deputation with an absolute majority of seats and almost 49% of the share, an increase of about eight percentage points from 1991. This is the results breakdown of the Congress of Deputies election held in Spain on 29 October 1989. The following tables show detailed results in each of the country's 17 autonomous communities and in the autonomous cities of Ceuta and Melilla, as well as a summary of constituency and regional results. Electoral system 348 members of the Congress of Deputies were elected using the D'Hondt method and a closed list proportional representation, with an electoral threshold of three percent of valid votes—which included blank ballots—being applied in each constituency. The Cortes Generales (; en, Spanish Parliament, lit=General Courts) are the bicameral legislative chambers of Spain, consisting of the Congress of Deputies (the lower house), and the Senate (the upper house). Gonzalo Capellán
Gonzalo Capellán de Miguel (born 23 January 1972) is a Spanish academic and People's Party (PP) politician. He led the party in the 2023 Riojan regional election, in which they won a majority and he became President of La Rioja. Biography Capellán was born in Haro, La Rioja. His father Patricio, who died in 2016, was the town's mayor from 1987 to 2015, representing the People's Party (PP). He graduated in history and geography from the University of Cantabria and became a lecturer at the University of La Rioja. Capellán was elected to the Parliament of La Rioja in 2007. He resigned in September 2008 due to his responsibilities as vice-rector of the University of Cantabria. Having already been La Rioja's director general of culture between 2003 and 2007, he was named Minister of Education, Culture and Tourism in the cabinet of Pedro Sanz in June 2011. The 2011 Riojan regional election was held on Sunday, 22 May 2011, to elect the 8th Parliament of the autonomous community of La Rioja. All 33 seats in the Parliament were up for election.
