People's Liberation Army Navy Band
The People's Liberation Army Navy Band () is the premier military music unit of the Chinese People's Liberation Army Navy (PLAN) and one of the three premier military bands in the People's Republic of China. It is currently under the command of the Political Department of the People's Liberation Army Navy and the supervision of the Central Military Commission (China), Central Military Commission's Political Work Department. History The band was formed in February 1986. It is the only professional ceremonial performance unit of the PLAN. It was established during a period of reforms in the PLA Central Band, which was the only band in the PLA at the time. As of 2007, the PLA Navy Band has visited more than 40 countries in the pacific and around the world. USS ''Juneau'' (LPD-10), an , is the third ship of the United States Navy to be named for Juneau, Alaska, the capital of Alaska. 50th Anniversary Of The People's Republic Of China
The 50th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China took place on 1 October 1999. A military parade was held in Tiananmen Square in Beijing and various celebrations were conducted all over the country. General Secretary of the Chinese Communist Party Jiang Zemin inspected the troops along Chang'an Avenue in Beijing. This parade was immediately followed by a civilian parade. It was the first one to be held since 1984 since the 1989 parade celebrating the 40th anniversary was cancelled due to the Tiananmen Square protests. PLA Navy Platinum Jubilee Parade
The PLA Navy Platinum Jubilee Parade () was a Chinese naval military parade which was held in the port city of Qingdao on 23 April 2019, in honor of the 70th anniversary (Platinum Jubilee) of the People's Liberation Army Navy (PLAN). It was the first naval parade by the PLAN since the 2018 South China Sea Parade just over year prior.
