Pentyrch Rugby Football Club is a Welsh rugby union club based in Pentyrch in Wales. Pentyrch RFC is a member of the Welsh Rugby Union and is a feeder club for Cardiff Rugby. Pentrych RFC source their playing team mainly from local members of the community and also run a second team, veteran team, youth team and mini and junior section from age group Under-7's to Under-16's. Pentyrch
Pentyrch ( cy, Pen-tyrch) is a village and community located on the western outskirts of Cardiff, the capital city of Wales. The village gives its name to a Cardiff local authority electoral ward, Pentyrch, which covers the village and immediate surrounding area. The Pentyrch community includes the neighbouring village of Creigiau and Gwaelod y Garth. People living in Pentyrch are commonly known as "Penterchyians". On 26 February 2016, multiple witnesses reported seeing UFOs. Geography The village is situated next to the Garth Mountain, high above the River Taff. The village can be reached from junction 32 of the M4 Motorway, then A470, then via Heol Goch, a hill flanked by a quarry and nature reserve. Cardiff Rugby ( cy, Rygbi Caerdydd) are one of the four professional Welsh rugby union teams. They compete in the United Rugby Championship and in European Professional Club Rugby competitions. WRU Division Four South East
The Welsh Rugby Union Division Four South East (also called the SWALEC Division Three South East for sponsorship reasons) is a rugby union league in Wales. Competition There are 12 clubs in the WRU Division Three South East. During the course of a season (which lasts from September to May) each club plays the others twice, once at their home ground and once at that of their opponents for a total of 22 games for each club, with a total of 132 games in each season. Teams receive four points for a win and two point for a draw, and additional bonus win is awarded to either team if they score four tries or more in a single match. No points are awarded for a loss though the losing team can gain a bonus point for finishing the match within seven points of the winning team. Tom Lewis (rugby Player)
Tom Lewis (7 June 1904–31 May 1994) was a Welsh international number 8 who played club rugby for Cardiff and was capped three times for Wales. Lewis began his rugby career with his local team Pentyrch before being selected to play for first class team Cardiff. He played all his international games whilst with Cardiff and in the 1932/33 season he also captained his club team. International rugby career Lewis was first selected to play for Wales in the 1926 Five Nations Championship when he faced England at the Cardiff Arms Park on the 16 January. Lewis was one of 8 new Welsh caps on the day, and the relative inexperienced team, under the captaincy of Rowe Harding, drew 3-3 with the England team. Robin Sowden-Taylor
Robin Sowden-Taylor (born 9 June 1982) is a Welsh international rugby player. Sowden-Taylor won his first Wales cap in the win over Italy in 2005 as part of the squad that won the Grand Slam that year. He was also a member of the 2008 Grand Slam winning squad. Harry Rhys Robinson (born 16 April 1993) is a Welsh former rugby union player who played as a wing. At club level, he played for Cardiff Blues and the Scarlets, and won 3 caps at international level for Wales between 2012 and 2013. Career Robinson started playing rugby at Pentyrch RFC, and made his professional debut for the Cardiff Blues in January 2011 at the age of 17. Seb Davies (born 17 May 1996) is a Welsh rugby union player who plays for Cardiff Rugby as a lock and can also play flanker. He is an ex-Wales under-20 international and full Welsh international.
