Park features include a 24-room lodge with restaurant, 12 cottages, campground, multi-purpose trails, 18-hole golf course, and lake with non-motorized boat rentals. The park was sited around an existing lake, behind a dam originally built in 1938. Christian County is a county located in the U.S. state of Kentucky. As of the 2020 census, the population was 72,748. Its county seat is Hopkinsville. The county was formed in 1797. Christian County is part of the Clarksville, TN–KY Metropolitan Statistical Area. History The county is named for Colonel William Christian, a native of Augusta County, Virginia, and a veteran of the Revolutionary War. He settled near Louisville, Kentucky in 1785, and was killed by Native Americans in southern Indiana in 1786. Jefferson Davis, president of the Confederate States of America, was born in Fairview, Christian County, Kentucky (now part of Todd County) in 1808. Dawson Springs is a list of Kentucky cities, home rule-class city in Hopkins County, Kentucky, Hopkins and Caldwell County, Kentucky, Caldwell counties in the U.S. state of Kentucky. History Originally known as Tradewater Bend, the city was incorporated in 1832 under the name Dawson City by two Menser brothers.
