''Littlest Pet Shop'' is a Canadian–American children's animated television series developed by Tim Cahill and Julie McNally-Cahill. The series is based on Hasbro's ''Littlest Pet Shop'' toy line, and features Blythe Baxter (voiced by Ashleigh Ball, with the character based on the doll of the same name) as the main protagonist, as well as other characters who reside in Downtown City (a city modeled after New York City). Along with Blythe is her father, Roger Baxter (voiced by Michael Kopsa), and her employer Mrs. Anna Twombly (voiced by Kathleen Barr) at the nearby pet store, Littlest Pet Shop. Away from home, she maintains several friends at her local high school. As well as the human cast are her seven animal companions, who reside within Littlest Pet Shop during the day, that whom Blythe unexpectedly gains the ability to communicate. Littlest Pet Shop (2012 TV Series) Characters
Littlest Pet Shop is a toy franchise and cartoon series owned by Hasbro. The original toy series was produced by Kenner in the early 1990s. An animated television series was made in 1995 by Sunbow Productions and Jean Chalopin Creativite et Developpement, based on the franchise. The franchise was relaunched in 2005 and there are currently over 3,000 different pet toys that have been created since. Hasbro, alongside various digital media developers, has produced video games for consoles such as the Nintendo DS, Wii and PlayStation 3. A second animated television series was produced by Hasbro Studios for Discovery Family, a U.S. cable network partially owned by Hasbro. This series premiered in 2012 and concluded in 2016 after 104 episodes. Hasbro has created virtual pets to 'adopt' and play with online. Peter New is a Canadian actor and screenwriter, best known for his roles as Big McIntosh in ''My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic'' and Sunil Nevla in ''Littlest Pet Shop (2012 TV series), Littlest Pet Shop''. In 2007, New's script "The Bar" won the first annual Hot Shot Shorts Film Contest. His short film "Woodman" is a 2017 selection at the LA Shorts Fest. The banded mongoose (''Mungos mungo'') is a mongoose species native from the Sahel to Southern Africa. It lives in savannas, open forests and grasslands and feeds primarily on beetles and millipedes. Mongooses use various types of dens for shelter including termite mounds. While most mongoose species live solitary lives, the banded mongoose live in colonies with a complex social structure. Characteristics The banded mongoose is a sturdy mongoose with a large head, small ears, short, muscular limbs and a long tail, almost as long as the rest of the body.
