Pennsylvania Route 478 (PA 478) is a state highway located in Clarion and Venango Counties. The highway begins at an intersection with PA 38 and PA 208 northeast of Emlenton. The highway serves the eastbound interchange for Exit 45 on Interstate 80 (I-80) and terminates at PA 58 in St. Petersburg. The alignment of PA 478 began as part of the former alignment of PA 238 until 1936, when PA 378 was designated on the alignment. In 1961, to avoid duplication with the newly numbered I-378 in Bethlehem, the route was redesignated as PA 478. The southern terminus is at PA 309 in Center Valley. Its northern terminus is at U.S. Route 22 (US 22) in Bethlehem. The route heads north from PA 309 as a two-lane undivided road through Upper Saucon Township and Lower Saucon Township before crossing South Mountain into the city of Bethlehem. Pennsylvania Route 238 (PA 238) is a state highway located entirely in York County, Pennsylvania. The western terminus of the route is at PA 74 in Shiloh. Emlenton is a borough in Clarion and Venango counties in the U.S. state of Pennsylvania. The population was 625 at the 2010 census. Of these, 617 were in Venango County, and eight were in Clarion County. The borough is home to the Emlenton Bridge on I-80, which spans the Allegheny River. Pennsylvania Route 58 (PA 58) is located in Western Pennsylvania, running 71.2 miles from Ohio State Route 5 (SR 5) at the Ohio state line west of Jamestown in Mercer County to PA 68 in Sligo in Clarion County.
