Morgan Cephas is an American politician serving as a member of the Pennsylvania House of Representatives, representing the 192nd House district in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Career Cephas previously served as the Deputy Chief of Staff to Philadelphia City Councilman Curtis Jones, Jr. before running for the state legislature. Cephas was first elected to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives in 2016 after defeating incumbent Rep. Lynwood Savage in the Democratic primary. Running unopposed, Cephas was re-elected to a second term in the House in the 2018 general election on November 6, 2018. The Pennsylvania House of Representatives is the lower house of the bicameral Pennsylvania General Assembly, the legislature of the U.S. state of Pennsylvania. There are 203 members, elected for two-year terms from single member districts. It is the largest full-time state legislature in the country. Anita Palermo Kelly (July 27, 1913 – August 15, 1990) was a former Democratic member of the Pennsylvania House of Representatives from Philadelphia County. She became known for her advocacy work on behalf of people with disabilities and health concerns, as well as senior citizens. Self-described as "Mother Hubbard" during her legislative years, she was praised by former colleagues, at the time of her death, as "a motherly figure" and "everybody's mom." The Wilkes University Election Statistics Project is a free online resource documenting Pennsylvania political election results dating back to 1796. Currently, the database documents Pennsylvania's county-level vote totals for President, Governor, United States Senator, and Congressional elections back to 1796. The database also contains directories for members of the Pennsylvania Provincial Assembly and the Pennsylvania General Assembly, dating back to 1682. According to the database's designer, Wilkes University Professor Harold E. Cox, "No other state has anything like it." The project's impetus began in 1996, when Cox inquired about 19th century election statistics, only to find that the data would cost $1,000.
