Penfield Gardens, South Australia
Penfield Gardens is a northern suburb of Adelaide, South Australia in the City of Playford. It is in the urban fringe on the Adelaide Plains, with major industries including market gardening and harness racing horse training. Penfield Gardens extends from the south (left) bank of the Gawler River downstream of Angle Vale to the Max Fatchen Expressway. The suburb was named in 1983, with the boundaries further adjusted in 2011 to avoid suburbs being divided by the Max Fatchen Expressway. Carclew The Carclew Primitive Methodist Church was built on what is now Carclew Road in Penfield Gardens in 1850. It was replaced by a newer building which opened on 12 June 1870. Regular services ceased in 1919, however the building and cemetery were maintained by the trustees for many years. The furnishings were sold to the Anglican church at Lobethal. Elizabeth, South Australia
Elizabeth is an outer northern suburb of the Adelaide metropolitan area, South Australia, 24 km north of the Adelaide city centre. It is located in the City of Playford. At the 2016 census, Elizabeth had a population of 1,024. Established in 1955, it was the seat of the former local government body, the Old City of Elizabeth, which included Elizabeth as well as the immediately adjacent suburbs on all sides except the west. District Council Of Munno Para
The City of Munno Para, formerly the District Council of Munno Para, was a local government area of South Australia from 6th November 1958 to 1997, seated at the township of Smithfield. In 1997 the City of Munno Para merged with the City of Elizabeth to form the new City of Playford. Early years District Council of Munno Para East was proclaimed on 10 November 1853 and expanded on 22 June 1933 by the amalgamation of the existing District Council of Munno Para East with a severed central portion of the District Council of Munno Para West.The first meeting of the expanded District Council was held at Uley on Monday 3 July 1933. Lobethal, South Australia
Lobethal is a town in the Adelaide Hills area of South Australia. It is located in the Adelaide Hills Council local government area, and is nestled on the banks of a creek between the hills and up the sides of the valley. It was once the centre of the Adelaide Hills wool processing industry, which continued until around 1950. The mill buildings are now used by a number of cottage industry and handcraft businesses. Max Fatchen Expressway
Northern Expressway, also known as the Fatchen Northern Expressway, is a 21 kilometre long controlled-access highway in Adelaide, South Australia. Since March 2020, the North–South Motorway continues west of Port Wakefield Highway and intersects the Port River Expressway to reach the harbour at Port Adelaide. These are the northernmost two parts of the North–South Corridor. Cycling is not permitted on the Expressway. The Stuart O'Grady Bikeway is a sealed shared cycling and walking path adjacent to the eastern side of the expressway. Gawler River (South Australia)
The Gawler River is a river located in the Adelaide Plains district of the Mid North region in the Australian state of South Australia. The district surrounding the river produces cereal crops and sheep for both meat and wool, as well as market gardens, almond orchards and vineyards.
