Pembroke Land District
Pembroke Land District is one of the twenty land districts of Tasmania which are part of the cadastral divisions of Tasmania. It was formerly one of the 18 counties of Tasmania. It includes Tasman Peninsula and Port Arthur, Tasmania, Port Arthur, as well as Forestier Peninsula, Dodges Ferry, Tasmania, Dodges Ferry and Maria Island. The Electoral division of Pembroke is not actually within the land district, but is close by in Monmouth Land District, Tasmania, Monmouth. Little Swanport River
The Little Swanport River is a perennial river located on the east coast of Tasmania, Australia. Wedge Island (Tasmania)
The Wedge Island, part of the Tasman Island Group, is an island with an area of lying close to the south-eastern coast of Tasmania, Australia. The island is located in Storm Bay, situated off the Tasman Peninsula. The island is formed of Jurassic dolerite. Fauna Recorded breeding seabird species are little penguin and short-tailed shearwater. The island was previously used for sheep grazing, and was regularly burnt. The sheep were removed in 1986. There were also large numbers of European rabbits, now exterminated. Tasman Island
The Tasman Island, part of the Tasman Island Group, is an oval island with an area of , lying close to the south-eastern coast of Tasmania, Australia. The island is located in the Tasman Sea, situated off the Tasman Peninsula and is contained within the Tasman National Park. The island is a plateau surrounded by steep dolerite cliffs, with its highest point above sea level (asl) and an average plateau height of asl. It is the site of the Tasman Island Lighthouse and weather station, which has been automated since 1976 and unstaffed since 1977. Flora and fauna Plants The island was once thickly forested. The forest has largely disappeared as a result of cutting the trees for firewood and of intense fires. Hippolyte Rocks is a small granite island, with an area of 5.3 hectare, ha, in south-eastern Australia.
