Pellston Public Schools is a school district located in Pellston, Michigan. It consists of Pellston Elementary School and Pellston Middle/High School. The district mascot is the hornet. Most of the district is in Emmet County. There it includes Pellston, Carp Lake, Levering, and portions of Brutus. Geography Munro Township is located in western Cheboygan County and is bordered by Emmet County to the west. Interstate 75 passes through the eastern part of the township, with two exits providing access. The unincorporated community of Riggsville is located along the eastern border of the township. Readmond Township is a civil township of Emmet County in the U.S. state of Michigan. The population was 581 at the 2010 census. Communities Good Hart is an unincorporated community in the township on the shore of Lake Michigan at . It is on M-119 about 13 miles north of Harbor Springs and eight miles south of Cross Village. This was a center of Ojibwe settlement under the leadership of Joseph Black Hawk and his brother Good Heart in the early 19th-century. History Indians knew the area as L'Arbre Croche, meaning crooked tree. In 1741, Jesuits established a mission to the Native Americans and it was known as Apatawaaing.
