Łowicz
Łowicz is a town in central Poland with 27,896 inhabitants (2020). It is situated in the Łódź Voivodeship (since 1999); previously, it was in Skierniewice Voivodeship (1975–1998). Together with a nearby station of Bednary, Łowicz is a major rail junction of central Poland, where the line from Warsaw splits into two directions - towards Poznań, and Łódź. Also, the station Łowicz Main is connected through a secondary-importance line with Skierniewice. Łowicz was a residence of Polish primates in the Polish–Lithuanian Commonwealth. They served as regents when the town became a temporary "capital" of Poland during the interregnum. As a result, Łowicz has its own bishop and a basilica in spite of its considerably small size. III liga (Trzecia liga) is a Polish football league that sits in the fourth tier of the Polish football league system. Until the end of the 2007–08 season, III liga referred to a league at the third tier (now called II liga) but this was changed with the formation of the Ekstraklasa as the top level league in Poland. 2021–22 III Liga
The 2021–22 III liga is the 14th season of the fourth tier domestic division in the Polish football league system since its establishment in 2008 under its current title (III liga) and the 6th season under its current league division format. The league is operated by the Polish Football Association (PZPN). The competition was contested by 73 clubs split geographically across 4 groups, with the winners of each group gaining promotion to the II liga. The season was played in a round-robin tournament. It began in August 2021 and ended in June 2022. The teams included semi-professional clubs (although a few are professional) and the reserve teams of professional clubs. It came into being on January 1, 1999, as a result of the Polish local government reforms passed in 1998.
