Malcolm Bernard Pein (born 14 August 1960) is a British chess player, chess organizer, author, and journalist. He holds the title of International Master. Chess biography Pein earned the title of International Master (IM) in 1986. Pein has been an influence in British chess for over thirty years, in the roles of player, coach, journalist, publisher, organizer, fundraiser, and entrepreneur. Pein won his first tournament in 1965 and was British Junior Champion in 1977. His most notable victories in tournament play include Jon Speelman, Vishy Anand and Lev Psakhis. In June 1992 he purchased Chess & Bridge Limited and set up a chess shop on the Euston Road in London which was relocated to Baker Street in 2010. In 1997 Pein was appointed as a consultant to IBM for the iconic Kasparov vs Deep Blue match. Anton Pein
Anton Pein (born May 9, 1967) is an Austrian former darts player, regarded as one of the country's best players. He is a former Electronic-Darts World Champion and participated in the 2007 PDC World Darts Championship where he began as a 5000/1 outsider. He met and was defeated by Phil Taylor in the first round. Pein qualified to represent the GDC at the 2008 Las Vegas Desert Classic. He failed to qualify for the event, having lost in the two qualifying events to Barrie Bates and Andy Beardsmore. Following the closure of the GDC in 2009, Pein returned to the BDO circuit where he played before qualifying for the PDC World Championship. Friedrich Pein
__NOTOC__ Friedrich Pein (20 October 1915 – 14 February 1975) was an Austrian sniper in the Wehrmacht of Nazi Germany during World War II, and one of two to have been awarded the Knight's Cross of the Iron Cross, the other being Matthäus Hetzenauer. Pein enlisted in the Wehrmacht in October 1938. His served as a sniper in the 143d Gebirgsjäger Regiment of the 6th Mountain Division on the Eastern Front. In early 1944, he was transferred to the 100th Jäger Division. On 28 February 1945 he was awarded the Knight's Cross of the Iron Cross marking his 200th kill as a sniper.
