Pehr Adlerfelt
Baron Pehr Adlerfelt (1680–1743) was brother of Gustaf Adlerfelt. In 1712 he was made colonel in the Swedish army and in 1720 was made a baron and in 1739 a member of the Riksrad (''Council of the Kingdom''). He died in 1743 while defending Stockholm against the Dalecarlians. Gustaf Adlerfelt
Gustaf Adlerfelt (1671 – June 28, 1709) was a Sweden, Swedish historical writer born near Stockholm, brother of Pehr Adlerfelt. He was appointed by Charles XII of Sweden, Charles XII "gentleman of the court" and afterwards accompanied him to his military campaigns, and writing a journal on them. He continues this work until his death in 1709 when he was killed by a cannonball in the Battle of Poltava. Dalecarlians
Dalarna () is a '' landskap'' (historical province) in central Sweden. English exonyms for it are Dalecarlia () and the Dales. Dalarna adjoins Härjedalen, Hälsingland, Gästrikland, Västmanland and Värmland. It is also bordered by Norway in the west. The province's borders mostly coincide with the modern administrative Dalarna County ('' län''). The word "Dalarna" means "the dales" (valleys). The area is a holiday destination for Swedes from the south, who often travel there in the summer, drawn by its fishing lakes, campgrounds, and forests. Some Swedes own or rent a second home in Dalarna, where they are likely to have a vegetable garden and apple trees. ''Svenskt biografiskt handlexikon'' () is a compact Swedish dictionary of biography first published in 1873–1876 by the physician and antiquarian Herman Hofberg (1823–1883). The second, updated edition was published in 1906, under the editorship of Frithiof Heurlin, Viktor Millqvist, and Olof Rubenson. The second edition, two volumes of all together 1,445 pages, contains 4,419 articles on families and individuals, "renowned Swedish men and women from the reformation until the present times", and more than 3,000 miniature portraits. The Swedish nobility ( sv, Adeln eller Ridderskapet och Adeln) has historically been a legally and/or socially privileged class in Sweden, and part of the so-called ''frälse'' (a derivation from Old Swedish meaning ''free neck''). The archaic term for nobility, ''frälse'', also included the clergy, a classification defined by tax exemptions and representation in the diet (the Riksdag). Today the nobility does not maintain its former legal privileges although family names, titles and coats of arms are still protected. The Swedish nobility consists of both "introduced" and "unintroduced" nobility, where the latter has not been formally "introduced" at the House of Nobility (''Riddarhuset''). The House of Nobility still maintains a fee for male members over the age of 18 for upkeep on pertinent buildings in Stockholm.
