Meletius I Pegas
Meletius I Pegas (; 1549 – 12 September 1601) served as Greek Patriarch of Alexandria between 1590 and 1601. Simultaneously from 1597 to 1598 he served also as locum tenens of the Ecumenical Patriarchate of Constantinople. He is honoured as a saint in the Eastern Orthodox Church, with his feast day held on September 13. Άγιος Μελέτιος Πηγάς'' Ορθόδοξος Συναξαριστής. Life Meletius was born in Candia (Heraklion) in the island of Crete, at the time capital of the Venetian Kingdom of Candia in 1549, and he studied classical philology, philosophy and medicine in Padua. Pegas is the name of a bicycle produced in Romania since 1972 when the first adult model came on the market. History Production started in 1972 in Mechanical Plant Tohan (''Uzina Mecanică Tohan'', originally an armaments factory), the first model for adults coming to market that year. In 1975 Pegas introduced a bicycle for children and a stationary bicycle for indoor exercise. In the 1980s series Pegas diversified to multi-speed bicycles, including the five-speed Pegas 1027 Campion. In the 1990s it introduced 18-speed mountain bikes and hybrids, as well as a stationary bicycle equipped with electronic readouts. Tomashevich Pegas
The Tomashevich Pegas was a World War II Soviet ground attack prototype aircraft built before the Battle of Kursk (1943), designed to destroy tanks and German vehicles. Development and design Dmitri Lyudvigovich Tomashevich was the chief designer on the Polikarpov I-180 fighter before the crash of the prototype, killing test pilot Valery Chkalov, led to Tomashevich being arrested and sent to a NKVD-run Special Prison in January 1939, where he assisted Andrei Tupolev in the design of the Tupolev Tu-2. In August 1941, Tomashevich was evacuated to Omsk in Siberia where he was put in charge of his own design bureau. The Kia Pegas () is an entry subcompact sedan (B-segment) manufactured in China by the Dongfeng Yueda Kia joint venture. It is sold under the Pegas nameplate in China, Africa and parts of the Middle East, and as the Kia Soluto in parts of Latin America and Southeast Asia. Ikar Airlines LLC, operating as Pegas Fly, is a Russian charter airline headquartered in Krasnoyarsk and based at Yemelyanovo International Airport but operates most flights from Zhukovsky International Airport.
