Pedro Rubiano Sáenz
Pedro Rubiano Sáenz (born September 13, 1932) is a cardinal and Roman Catholic Archbishop Emeritus of Bogotá in the Roman Catholic Church. Early life and ordination Born in Cartago, Colombia, Rubiano Sáenz studied at the seminary in Popayán before his being ordained as a priest on 8 July 1956. He did pastoral ministry 1956–1971. Pastor and founder of the parishes of "San Pedro Claver" and of "Nuestra Señora de la Providencia". He served as treasurer and pastoral vicar of the archdiocese of Cali and vice-rector of the Major School "Santiago di Cali". Bishop and Archbishop In 1971, he was named Bishop of Cúcuta. He was consecrated only fifteen years after his ordination to the priesthood and just within the canonical limit, on 11 July 1972 in Cali, by Archbishop Angelo Palmas, nuncio to Colombia. A cardinal ( la, Sanctae Romanae Ecclesiae cardinalis, literally 'cardinal of the Holy Roman Church') is a senior member of the clergy of the Catholic Church. Cardinals are created by the ruling pope and typically hold the title for life. Collectively, they constitute the College of Cardinals. Their most solemn responsibility is to elect a new pope in a conclave, almost always from among themselves (with a few historical exceptions), when the Holy See is vacant. During the period between a pope's death or resignation and the election of his successor, the day-to-day governance of the Holy See is in the hands of the College of Cardinals. The papal conclave of 2005 was convened to elect a pope, the leader of the Catholic Church, to succeed Pope John Paul II following his death on 2 April 2005. In accordance with the apostolic constitution '' Universi Dominici gregis'', which governed the vacancy of the Holy See, only cardinals who had not passed their 80th birthday on the day on which the Holy See became vacant (in this case, cardinals who were born on or after 2 April 1925) were eligible to participate in the conclave. Isaías Duarte Cancino
Monsignor Isaías Duarte Cancino (San Gil, Santander, February 15, 1939 - Cali, Valle del Cauca, March 16, 2002) was a Colombian Catholic priest, who from 1995 until the day of his death was archbishop of the Archdiocese of Cali. In 2012 Colombian justice determined that it was the commander of the Eastern Bloc of the FARC who gave the order to assassinate Duarte. But the commanders were exonerated in March 2013 by a judge of the High Court of Cali. Oscar Urbina Ortega
Oscar Urbina Ortega (born 13 April 1947) is a Colombian prelate of the Roman Catholic Church. He is the second and current Archbishop of Villavicencio. Biography Oscar Urbina Ortega was born in Arboledas, and ordained to the priesthood by Archbishop Aníbal Muñoz Duque on 30 November 1973. From 1986 to 1994 he was Rector of the Major Seminary of Bogotá, the main seminary of the Archdiocese of Bogotá. On March 8, 1996, he was appointed Auxiliary Bishop of Bogotá and Titular Bishop of Forconium by Pope John Paul II. Hugo Rafael Chávez Frías (; 28 July 1954 – 5 March 2013) was a Venezuelan politician who was president of Venezuela from 1999 until his death in 2013, except for a brief period in 2002.
