Pedro Rodriguez De Miranda
Pedro Rodríguez de Miranda (1696–1766) was a Spanish painter of the late-Baroque period. Rodríguez de Miranda was born and died in Madrid. He was the nephew and pupil of the painter Juan García de Miranda. His early patron was Father Aller, the confessor to the prince Philip. He painted scenes from the ''Life of the blessed Caracciolo'' for the cloister of the convent of the Holy Spirit in Madrid and the ''Story of the prophet Elias'' for the chapel of St. Theresa in the church of the Convent of the barefoot Carmelites. However, he is best known for his peopled landscape and genre paintings. Master Sergeant Pedro Rodríguez (January 3, 1912 – October 19, 1999) was a U.S. Army soldier from Puerto Rico who earned two Silver Stars within a seven-day period during the Korean War. He is one of the few U.S. Army soldiers and perhaps the only Puerto Rican soldier other than Brigadier General Antonio Rodríguez Balinas, Second Lieutenant Vidal Rodriguez-Amaro, and Sergeant First Class Felix G. Nieves to receive more than one Silver Star during the Korean War. Rodríguez served in the 65th Infantry Regiment during both World War II and the Korean War; the 65th Infantry was awarded the Congressional Gold Medal in 2014. Pedro Rodríguez y Lazala (1869 – October 25, 1932), also known as Nyoy Endong and the Grand Old Man of Bogo was a Filipino politician. He served as ''Presidente Municipal'' of Bogo, Cebu and was one of the first members of the Philippine Assembly. Rodríguez was born in Medellin, Cebu and he attended the seminary of San Carlos and proceeded to the Ateneo de Manila where he graduated with a B.S. in Agricultural Engineering.
