Pedro Nolasco (actor)
Pedro Nolasco (February 2, 1962 – September 15, 1995) was a Dominican boxer, who won the bronze medal in the men's bantamweight category at the 1984 Summer Olympics in Los Angeles, United States. This was the first Olympic medal of the Dominican Republic. A year earlier he won a silver at the 1983 Pan American Games. He was born in La Romana, Dominican Republic. Nolasco turned pro in 1986 and had limited success, possibly a result of having moved up the professional ladder too quickly. In 1987 he dropped a pair of fights to future champion Tony Lopez. Later in the year he lost a by first-round knockout to former world champ Victor Callejas. In 1989 he took on Maurizio Stecca for the newly created WBO Featherweight Title, but lost in a 6th-round TKO. Nolasco was shot and killed in an attempted robbery at his home in La Romana on September 15, 1995, at the age of 33. Moon Sung-kil (, born July 20, 1963) is a Korean former professional boxer who competed from 1987 to 1993. He is a world champion in two weight classes, having held the WBA bantamweight title from August 1988 to July 1989 and the WBC super-flyweight title between January 1990 and November 1993. His name is also rendered Sung Kil Moon. Amateur career Moon, who compiled a purported record of 219–22 (164 KO) during his amateur career, was known as a great knockout puncher of the lighter divisions. In 1982, he won the bantamweight gold medal at the Asian Games in New Delhi, knocking out Wanchai Pongsri of Thailand with one blow in the final. John Siryakibbe
John Siryakibbe (25 December 1962) is a retired boxer, who represented Uganda at two Summer Olympics. Siryakibbe was just 17 years old when he competed at the 1980 Summer Olympics in Moscow, after receiving a bye in the first round of the bantamweight contest, he was up against the Bulgarian Aleksandr Radev, which Siryakibbe won when the referee stopped the contest after just over a minute in round one, in the next round he was against the Frenchman Ali Ben Moghenia, this went all the way with the Ugandan winning on points 5-0, in the quarter finals he lost against Bernardo Piñango after a second round knockout. Two years later Siryakibbe was in Brisbane, competing in the 1982 Commonwealth Games, where he finished 5th in the bantamweight division, the following year he won a gold medal at the 1983 African Amateur Boxing Championships which were held in Kampala, Uganda.
