Pedro Jirón
Pedro Jose Jirón Rugama "Peche Jirón" (18 December 1939 – 7 September 2018) was a Nicaraguan professional footballer who played as a midfielder. Club career Pedro played in the First Division only with Diriangén for 15 years and was their captain for eight years. Pedro was a universal footbller, with the natural ability to play football anywhere in the world. Winning 3 league titles with Diriangén and aiding the great Manuel Cuadra to many goals. International career Pedro captained the Nicaragua national football team for 6 six years and played 5 matches for them as they came sixth in the 1967 CONCACAF Championship. Diriamba is a city and a municipality in the Carazo department of Nicaragua, with a population of 64,757 (2020 estimate). It is located 41 km south of Managua, the capital of Nicaragua. Diriangén FC is a Nicaraguan professional association football, football club based in Diriamba which competes in Primera División de Nicaragua, Nicaraguan Premier Division (Primera Division). It is one of the oldest clubs in not only Nicaragua but also in Central America. 1967 CONCACAF Championship
The 1967 CONCACAF Championship, also referred to as the NORCECA Championship, was the third edition of the CONCACAF Championship. The final tournament took place from 5 to 19 March in Tegucigalpa, Honduras. Mexico qualified automatically as defending champions, while Honduras did it as the host nation. Guatemala won the title after finishing in first place of a round-robin tournament between the six teams participating in the final tournament. It is the only CONCACAF championship won to date by Guatemala, who was managed by Rubén Amorín. Mexico, managed by Ignacio "Nacho" Trelles, finished second, while Honduras finished third.
