Peder Holt
Peder Ragnar Holt (25 January 1899–24 March 1963) was a Norwegian politician for the Labour Party. He was the first person from Finnmark county to be the Governor of Finnmark, a position he held from 1948 until his death in 1963. He was instrumental in the reconstruction and rebuilding of Finnmark after World War II. Personal life He was born in the town of Vardø in Finnmark county in the far northern part of Norway. He participated in the Left Communist Youth League's military strike action in 1924. He agitated for it through the newspaper ''Finmarken'', and was convicted for this crime and sentenced to 50 days of light detention. He died on 24 March 1963 in the town of Vadsø where he was serving as county governor. He was a Commander of the 1st class of the Order of the Lion of Finland. Vardø (town)
( fkv, Vuorea / sme, Várggát) OR is a town and the administrative centre of Vardø Municipality in Troms og Finnmark county, Norway. The town is located on the island of Vardøya in the Barents Sea, just off the coast of the large Varanger Peninsula. The town has a population (2017) of 1,875 which gives the town a population density of . Vardø is the easternmost town in Norway (and in all the Nordic countries), located at 31°E, which is east of Saint Petersburg, Kyiv, and Istanbul. The eastern part of Finnmark is in the same time zone as the rest of the country, but it is more than an hour at odds with daylight hours. Reidar Carlsen (1 July 1908 – 2 May 1987) was a Norwegian politician for the Labour Party. Reidar Carlsen was born in Bodin in Nordland county, Norway. He studied at the National School of Forestry (''Skogskolen'') in the community of Steinkjer (1928–1929). He was Member of Parliament of Norway from 1945 to 1961. Vardø Municipality
( fi, Vuoreija, fkv, Vuorea, se, Várggát) is a municipality in Troms og Finnmark county in the extreme northeastern part of Norway. Vardø is the easternmost town in Norway, more to the east than Saint Petersburg or Istanbul. The administrative centre of the municipality is the town of Vardø. It was released between 1985 and 1990 by Tiden Norsk Forlag. It was not the first work about the history of the Norwegian labour movement. Einhart Lorenz released the two-volume work ''Arbeiderbevegelsens historie. En innføring. Norsk sosialisme i internasjonalt perspektiv'' in 1972 and 1974. This time, a large work was planned because of the 100th anniversary of the Norwegian Labour Party in 1987. As such, it is a party history combined with the history of other important parties as well as the trade union movement. ''Finnmarken'' is a local newspaper published in Vadsø, Norway. It covers eastern Finnmark. It was established in 1899 by Adam Egede-Nissen and others. Kunnskapsforlaget () is a Norwegian publishing company based in Oslo. Kunnskapsforlaget was established in 1975, as a partnership between H. Aschehoug & Co. (W. Nygaard) and Gyldendal Norsk Forlag.
