Pedals (died October 2016, New Jersey, United States) was an American black bear (''Ursus americanus'') that walked upright on its hind legs due to injuries on its front paws. After videos of the bear were posted on the internet, more than 300,000 people signed a petition to move the bear to a wildlife sanctuary. Pedals appears to have been killed in October 2016 in New Jersey's first sanctioned bow and arrow hunt in four decades. During the hunt, which also included muzzle-loading rifles, a total of 562 bears were killed. Fame Pedals was first spotted in 2014 in Oak Ridge, New Jersey. American Black Bear

It is the continent's smallest and most widely distributed bear species. American black bears are omnivores, with their diets varying greatly depending on season and location. Leon Kachelhoffer is a Botswanan trophy hunter who caused an international outcry for killing a circa 45-year-old rare and well-known ' big tusker' elephant in Botswana in 2022 alongside a smaller second elephant. Kachelhoffer, who is working as a professional hunter within the African wildlife since 2002, was reportedly paid $50,000, of which a large portion went directly to the community in which the elephant was hunted, to kill the biggest elephant professionally hunted since 1996. Raymond J. "Ray" Lesniak (born May 7, 1946) is an American Democratic Party politician, who served in the New Jersey State Senate from 1983 to 2018, where he represented the 20th Legislative District. Before entering New Jersey's upper house, the Senate, Lesniak served in the General Assembly from 1978 to 1983.
