''Peanuts Portraits'' is the fifth compilation album by jazz pianist Vince Guaraldi released by Fantasy/ Concord Records on April 20, 2010. The album contains a mix of previously released material plus alternate and extended versions of songs featured in prime-time animated television specials based on the ''Peanuts'' comic strip by Charles M. Schulz. Background To celebrate the 60th anniversary of Charles M. Schulz's ''Peanuts'' comic strip, Fantasy/Concord Records assembled this themed compilation, with each song relating to a specific ''Peanuts'' character. The songs "Frieda (With the Naturally Curly Hair)" and "Schroeder" are complete takes of the same versions that appeared on ''Jazz Impressions of A Boy Named Charlie Brown''. Vince Guaraldi
Vincent Anthony Guaraldi (; birth name, né Dellaglio, July 17, 1928 – February 6, 1976) was an American jazz pianist best known for composing music for animated television adaptations of the ''Peanuts'' comic strip. His compositions for this series included their signature melody "Linus and Lucy" and the holiday standard "Christmas Time Is Here". He is also known for his performances on piano as a member of Cal Tjader's 1950s ensembles and for his own solo career. His 1962 composition "Cast Your Fate to the Wind" became a radio hit and won a Grammy Award in 1963 for Grammy Award for Best Original Jazz Composition, Best Original Jazz Composition. He died of a sudden heart attack in February 1976 at age 47, moments after concluding a nightclub performance in Menlo Park, California. George Winston
George Winston (born December 26, 1949) is an American pianist, guitarist, harmonicist, and record producer. He was born in Michigan and raised mainly in Montana ( Miles City and Billings), as well as Mississippi and Florida. He is best known for his solo piano recordings. Each of several of his albums from the early 1980s have sold millions of copies. He plays in three styles: the melodic approach he developed that he calls "rural folk piano"; stride piano, primarily inspired by Thomas "Fats" Waller and Teddy Wilson; and his primary interest, New Orleans R&B piano, influenced by James Booker, Professor Longhair, and Henry Butler. Peppermint Patty is a fictional character featured in Charles M. Schulz's comic strip ''Peanuts''. Her full name is Patricia Reichardt, which is very rarely used in the strip. She is one of a small group in the strip who live across town from Charlie Brown and his school friends (although in ''The Peanuts Movie'', ''Snoopy in Space'', and '' The Snoopy Show'' she, Marcie, and Franklin live in the same neighborhood and attend the same school).
