Peacemaker (comics)
Peacemaker is the name of a series of fictional characters originally owned by Charlton Comics and later acquired by DC Comics. The original Peacemaker first appeared in ''Fightin' 5'' #40 (November 1966) and was created by writer Joe Gill and artist Pat Boyette. John Cena portrayed the Christopher Smith version of Peacemaker in the 2021 DC Extended Universe film '' The Suicide Squad'', and in the 2022 self-titled television series on HBO Max. Publication history The Peacemaker first appeared as a backup series in Charlton Comics' espionage-team title ''Fightin' 5'' #40 (November 1966). When that series was canceled with issue #41, Peacemaker received his own title lasting five issues cover-dated March to November 1967, with ''Fightin' 5'' as a backup series and later a low reprint run on the Modern Comics imprint. ''Who's Who: The Definitive Directory of the DC Universe'' (1985–87), usually referred to simply as ''Who's Who'', is the umbrella title for a number of comic book series which DC Comics published to catalogue the wide variety of fictional characters in their imaginary universe, the DC Universe. History ''Who's Who'' was the creation of Len Wein, Marv Wolfman, and Robert Greenberger, and its first incarnation (''Who's Who: The Definitive Directory of the DC Universe'') debuted in the last month of 1984 (Cover date, cover-dated March 1985) and ran 26 issues until 1987 (cover-dated April 1987). It was essentially an encyclopedia in comic book form, listing the characters, places, and technology in the DC Universe,, with a loose leaf format devised by editor Michael Eury. Penciler
A penciller (or penciler) is an artist who works on the creation of comic books, graphic novels, and similar visual art forms, with a focus on the initial pencil illustrations, usually in collaboration with other artists, who provide inks, colors and lettering in the book, under the supervision of an editor. In the American comic book industry, the penciller is the first step in rendering the story in visual form, and may require several steps of feedback with the writer. ''Doomsday Clock'' is a 2017–2019 superhero comic book limited series published by DC Comics, written by Geoff Johns with art by penciller Gary Frank and colorist Brad Anderson. The series concludes the story established in The New 52 and DC Rebirth, and is a direct sequel to the graphic novel ''Watchmen'' by Alan Moore, Dave Gibbons and John Higgins. Harold "Hal" Jordan, one of the characters known as Green Lantern, is a superhero appearing in American comic books published by DC Comics.
