Peace TV Bangla
Peace TV Bangla is the Bengali-language channel of the UAE-based Peace TV. The founder and president of Peace TV Bangla is Zakir Naik, an Islamic preacher from Mumbai, India. It was launched on April 22, 2011, and is broadcasting worldwide. After the terrorist attack in Dhaka, which caused 29 casualties, including 20 hostages (18 foreigners and 2 locals), investigations in the matter revealed that one of the terrorists involved in the attack had posted sermons of Zakir Naik on social media where he urged "all Muslims to be terrorists" by saying "if he is terrorizing a terrorist, he is following Islam". Due to this, the Government of Bangladesh outlawed the channel, along with its English-language sister, on July 10, 2016. 576i is a standard-definition television, standard-definition digital video mode, originally used for digitizing analog television in most countries of the world where the utility frequency for electric power distribution is 50 Hz. 1-2 July 2016 Dhaka Attack
On the night of 1 July 2016, at 21:20 local time, five militants took hostages and opened fire on the Holey Artisan Bakery in Gulshan Thana. The assailants entered the bakery with crude bombs, machetes, pistols, and took several dozen hostages (foreigners and locals). In the immediate response, while Dhaka Metropolitan Police tried to regain control of the bakery, two police officers were shot dead by the assailants. 29 people were killed, including 20 hostages (17 foreigners and 3 locals), two police officers, five gunmen, and two bakery staff. Diganta Television ( bn, দিগন্ত টেলিভিশন; ) was a Bangladeshi Bengali-language privately owned satellite and cable news television channel founded in 2007. The channel was owned Diganta Media Corporation, which also owns the daily newspaper ''Daily Naya Diganta''. Diganta Television officially began broadcasting on 28 August 2008, and was shutdown along with Islamic TV on 6 May 2013, both of which were assumed to be supporting the Jamaat-e-Islami political party, and as a result faced boycotts during the 2013 Shahbag protests. Channel S is a UK-based, free-to-air television channel targeting the British Bangladeshi community. The channel was established on 16 December 2004 by Mahee Ferdous Jalil, a Bangladeshi businessman in London. On Sky it at first had a timesharing deal with ATN Global, and then in 2005 began to broadcast for 24 hours, 7 days a week; it is currently available on Sky channel 777. Islamic TV ( bn, ইসলামিক টিভি) was Bangladeshi Bengali-language satellite and cable religious television channel. The owner of the channel was Said Iskandar, the younger brother of the former Prime Minister Khaleda Zia. Its head office was in Banglamotor, Dhaka. Abdul Qayum ( bn, মুহাম্মদ আব্দুল কাইয়ুম, ar, مُحَمَّد عَبْدُ الْقَيُّوم; b. 1 March 1960) is a British Bangladeshi scholar and the chief Imam of the East London Mosque.
