Pašušvys, Kėdainiai
Pašušvys (formerly russian: Пошушве, pl, Poszuszwie) is a village in Kėdainiai district municipality, in Kaunas County, in central Lithuania. According to the 2011 census, the village had a population of 91 people. It is located from Krakės, on the right bank of the Šušvė river, along the Krakės-Betygala road. There are a community house, a cemetery of the First World War victims, a former watermill (now in ruins), some buildings of the Pašušvys Manor, a former manor park. Nearby an ancient burial place is located. The Pašušvys Landscape Sanctuary is located by the Šušvė river. The Pašušvys forestry is in Skirgailinė village. History In 1585 Aklapuodis village was located in the current place of Pašušvys. Later, the manor emerged and Aklapuodis village was moved to other place in 1862 (now Plinkaigalis). Šušvė
Šušvė is a river in central Lithuania, a right (the longest) tributary of the Nevėžis river. It begins in Kelmė district municipality, 6 km (4 mi) southeast from Tytuvėnai. The river passes through Tytuvėnai and Sulinkiai Marshes and flows south through Radviliškis district municipality. Finally, Šušvė passes through Kėdainiai district municipality and flows into the Nevėžis near Graužiai village. The width of the river valley is between 0.5 and 3 km. From December to March Šušvė is usually frozen. Dams were built at Vaitiekūnai and Angiriai ( Angiriai Reservoir). The Šušvė Hydrological Sanctuary was established in 1992 to protect the lower courses of the river. Kolhoz
A kolkhoz ( rus, колхо́з, a=ru-kolkhoz.ogg, p=kɐlˈxos) was a form of collective farm in the Soviet Union. Kolkhozes existed along with state farms or sovkhoz., a contraction of советское хозяйство, soviet ownership or state ownership, sovetskoye khozaystvo. Russian plural: ''sovkhozy''; anglicized plural: ''sovkhozes''. These were the two components of the socialized farm sector that began to emerge in Soviet agriculture after the October Revolution of 1917, as an antithesis both to the feudal structure of impoverished serfdom and aristocratic landlords and to individual or family farming. The 1920s were characterized by spontaneous emergence of collective farms, under influence of traveling propaganda workers. Plinkaigalis
Plinkaigalis (formerly russian: Плинтагола, pl, Plintagoła) is a village in Kėdainiai district municipality, in Kaunas County, in central Lithuania. According to the 2011 census, the village had a population of 319 people. It is located from Krakės, along the Krakės-Betygala road, on the right bank of the Šušvė river, on the shore of the Plinkaigalis Lake. There is the Plinkaigalis hillfort on the confluence of the Šušvė and Žiedupė. Also an ancient burial place with rich grave goods had been found nearby. History Plinkaigalis village is known since 1595. In 1632 eleven families lived here and six in 1662. During the 18th century the village once had been deserted but later repopulated as the Krakės manor settlement. Betygala is a small town in Kaunas County in central Lithuania. As of 2011 it had a population of 488. Krakės
Krakės (formerly ''Krakiai'', pl, Kroki, russian: link=no, Кроки) is a small town in Kėdainiai district, central Lithuania. It is located on the Smilgaitis River. In the town, there are Catholic church of St. Matthew the Evangelist (built in 1907), Mikalojus Katkus gymnasium, library, medicine station, St. Catherine women convent, Krakės Agriculture Cooperative with former culture center, swimming pool and shop (built in 1983, architect K.
