Paws, Inc.
Paws Incorporated, legally known as Paws, Inc., is an American comic studio and production company founded by American cartoonist Jim Davis in 1981 to support the ''Garfield'' comic strips and its licensing. The company was originally located in Davis' home state of Indiana. Its building was established in Muncie in 1989, relocated from Davis' own farm when he was a boy. In 1994, the company purchased all rights to the classic ''Garfield'' comic strips from 1978 to 1993 from United Feature Syndicate, although United still holds the original black-and-white daily strips and original color Sunday strips. The full-color daily strips and recolored Sunday strips are copyrighted to Paws as they are considered a different product. The strip is currently distributed by Andrews McMeel Syndication (formerly Universal Press Syndicate and Universal Uclick), while rights for the strip remain with Paws, Inc. Garfield On The Town
''Garfield on the Town'' is a 1983 animated television special, directed by Phil Roman and based on the ''Garfield'' comic strip by Jim Davis. It once again starred Lorenzo Music as the voice of Garfield (who also co-wrote the special with Davis), and also featured the voices of Thom Huge, Gregg Berger and Julie Payne. Bill Melendez
José Cuauhtémoc "Bill" Melendez (November 15, 1916 – September 2, 2008) was an American character animator, voice actor, film director and producer. Melendez is known for working on the Peanuts animated specials, ''Peanuts'' animated specials. Before ''Peanuts'', he previously worked as an animator for Walt Disney Animation Studios, Walt Disney Productions, Warner Bros. Cartoons, and United Productions of America, UPA. Melendez provided the voices of Snoopy and Woodstock (Peanuts), Woodstock in the latter as well. In a career spanning over 60 years, he won six Primetime Emmy Awards and was nominated for thirteen more. In addition, he was nominated for an Academy Awards, Oscar and five Grammy Awards.
