Pavol Schmidt
Pavel Leo Edmund Schmidt (9 February 1930 – 14 August 2001) was a Slovak rower who competed for Czechoslovakia, mostly in the double sculls together with Václav Kozák. They won a gold medal at the 1960 Olympics and two medals at European championships in 1959 and 1961, and placed fourth at the 1962 World Rowing Championships. After retiring from competitions, Schmidt became a rowing coach, and in 1967–68 trained the Mexico national team. After that he did not return to Czechoslovakia, but settled in Switzerland together with his family. Pavol Rusko is retired Slovak politician, television magnate and convinced fraudster. He served as the Minister of Economy of Slovakia between 2003 and 2005 and Managing Director of TV Markíza, at the time Slovakia's most viewed private TV station, between 1996 and 2000. Pavol Regenda (born 7 December 1999) is a Slovak professional ice hockey player for the San Diego Gulls of the American Hockey League (AHL), as a prospect for the Anaheim Ducks of the National Hockey League (NHL). Playing career During the 2021–22 season, he recorded 15 goals and 24 assists in 43 games for HK Dukla Michalovce. He was the top scorer in the Extraliga among players 22 and under.
