Pavol Frešo
Pavol Frešo (born 21 April 1969) is a Slovak former politician who was the last chairman of SDKÚ-DS, Governor of the Bratislava Region, and an MP of the National Council of the Slovak Republic. Life Frešo was born on 21 April 1969 in Bratislava. He studied at Slovak University of Technology in Bratislava graduated in 1992 and University of Economics in Bratislava earning a bachelor's degree (Bc.) in 1995. From 1990 until 1992 he worked as a self-employed person offering PC work lectures. From 1993 until 2006 he was president of company. He has not been active in business since 2006. Bratislava Region
The Bratislava Region ( sk, Bratislavský kraj, , german: Pressburger/Bratislavaer Landschaftsverband (until 1919), hu, Pozsonyi kerület) is one of the administrative regions of Slovakia. Its capital is Bratislava. The region was first established in 1923 and its present borders exist from 1996. It is the smallest of the eight regions of Slovakia as well as the most urbanized, most developed and most productive by GDP per capita. Geography The region is located in the south-western part of Slovakia and has an area of 2,053 km2 and a population of 622,706 (2009). The region is split by the Little Carpathians which start in Bratislava and continue north-eastwards; these mountains separate two lowlands, the Záhorie lowland in the west and the fertile Danubian Lowland in the east, which grows mainly wheat and maize. Democratic Party (Slovakia, 1989)
The Democratic Party ( sk, Demokratická strana, DS) was a political party in Slovakia, active between 1989 and 2006. History The party emerged from the Democratic Party Party of Slovak Revival (SSO) which had been a bloc party within the communist-dominated National Front of the ČSSR since 1948. In December 1989, at the end of the Velvet Revolution that ended the communist rule in Czechoslovakia, the SSO decided to change its name to Democratic Party, claiming to be a continuation of the historical Democratic Party that had existed from 1944 to 1948 and had been the strongest party in Slovakia during the immediate post-war period before the communist takeover. The DS won 7 seats out of 150 in the Slovak parliament (Slovak National Council) and no seats in the federal parliament in 1990, but no seats in any parliament in 1992. Viliam Novotný
Viliam Novotný (born 13 March 1973 in Košice) is a Slovak neurosurgeon and politician. In 2002–2016 he served as a member of the National Council. For most of his political career, he was a member of the Slovak Democratic and Christian Union – Democratic Party. He left the party in 2014 over disagreement with the direction of party leadership. Since 2016 he has been the leader of the small party ŠANCA.
