Pavlina Chilingirova ( bg, Павлина Чилингирова, also Pavlina Angelova ( bg, Павлина Ангелова); born 22 October 1955) is a Bulgarian chess player who holds the FIDE title of Woman International Master (WIM, 1982). She is a Bulgarian Women Chess Champion (1993). Biography In the 1980s and 1990s, she was one of the leading Bulgarian women's chess players. Chilingirova has participated in many Bulgarian women's chess championships where she won gold (1993), 2 silver (1981, 2007) and 6 bronzes (1980, 1986, 1989, 1990, 2004, 2006) medals. Several times she played in the Women's World Chess Championships zonal tournaments (1981, 1987, 1993, 1995). In 1988, Chilingirova won Dortmund international women's tournament. Pavlina Osta is an American news anchor, radio personality, former Executive Producer for Salem Media Group, and former radio host of ''Pavlina's Kidz Place''. As of March 2022, Osta was made evening news anchor for the Upper Peninsula TV6 WLUC NBC Fox affiliate station. Osta is an accomplished classical ballet dancer and recipient of five Gracie Awards in four consecutive years (2014, 2015, 2016 and 2017). Her media career started as a steel drum street performer who became a radio host. Many of her interviews are on her YouTube channel. Evgenia Pavlina (born 20 July 1978) is a former Belarusian rhythmic gymnast who competed as an individual. She was born in Minsk, Belarus. Career Pavlina started gymnastics at the age of 6 with her first coach Anna Baranova. From age 15 she trained 48 hours per week at club Dynamo Minsk with Belarusian master Galina Krylenko and Natalia Stepanova. Pavlina made her senior debut at the 1993 Medico Cup in Austria, where she placed 3rd in the all-around and took two more bronze medals with clubs and ribbon at the final events. Paulina Porizkova (born Pavlína Pořízková, ; 9 April 1965) is a Swedish model. Born in Czechoslovakia and raised in Sweden, Porizkova became the first Central European woman to appear on the cover of the ''Sports Illustrated'' swimsuit issue in 1984. As an actress, Porizkova made her film debut in ''Anna'' (1987). Early life Porizkova was born on 9 April 1965 near Prostějov, then in Czechoslovakia, to anti-Soviet dissident parents, Anna Pořízková and Jiří Pořízka. Pavlina Pajk, ''née'' Doljak (9 April 1854 – 1 June 1901) was an early Slovene poet, novelist, essay writer and biographer. Biography Born in Pavia, then part of the Austrian Empire, Pajk's parents were Slovenes. The area came under Italian control when she was about five, and her family remained there. She first received an Italian education but after her parents had died, when she was 16 she moved to stay with her uncle in Solkan, Slovenia. She published her first collection of poems, ''Prva Ljibezen'' (First Love) in 1873. When she was 22, she fell in love with Janko Pajk, a Slovenian professor and editor. They arranged the wedding before they even met (through letters) and when they got married they moved first to Maribor then to Austria where she lived for the next 20 years. Pavlina Nikaj (1931–2011) was an Albanian singer. Together with Anita Take and Pjetër Gjergji, she is considered the pioneer of the easy listening interpretation in Albania. Nikaj was born in Korçë, on 15 May 1931. She started her career as a singer in 1945, in the so-called Syndicate's Chorus ( sq, Kori i Sindikatave) in Korçë, and later in Radio Korça. In 1950, she started as a professional singer in the Assembly of the Army ( sq, Ansambli i Ushtrisë), and in 1957 she was affiliated with the Theatre of Estrada of Tirana. There she would stay for around 20 years. Her repertoire includes songs which have remained as classic of the light Albanian music, and well-known during the Communist period.
