Kenneth Paver
Kenneth Edwin Paver (4 October 1903 – 20 November 1975) was an English first-class cricketer. Paver was born at Dover in October 1903. He later made two appearances in first-class cricket for Hampshire, playing once each in the 1925 County Championship and the 1926 County Championship, against Northamptonshire and Somerset respectively, with both matches played at Portsmouth. In these, he scored 52 runs. Paver was active in club cricket in the Portsmouth area, playing for Southsea, Havant Cricket Club, and Hampshire Rovers. He later played for Chichester Priory Park, just across the county border in Sussex Sussex (), from the Old English (), is a historic county in South East England that was formerly an independent medieval Anglo-Saxon kingdom. Michelle Paver (born 7 September 1960) is a British novelist and children's writer, known for the historical fantasy series ''Chronicles of Ancient Darkness'', set in prehistoric Europe. For the sixth book of the series, '' Ghost Hunter'' (2009) she won the Guardian Children's Fiction Prize, a book award judged by a panel of British children's writers. Biography Michelle Paver was born in Nyasaland (now Malawi) in central Africa. Her mother was Belgian (Flemish) and her South African father ran a newspaper, the '' Nyasaland Times''. Her family settled in Wimbledon, England when she was three. She was educated at The Study and Wimbledon High School. After reading biochemistry at Lady Margaret Hall, University of Oxford, where she attained a first-class degree, she became a partner in a City of London law firm. Robert Paver
Robert D. Paver (born 11 August 1952) is an Australian dermatologist and Mohs surgeon and a former national representative rower. As a rower he was a four-time Australian champion who represented at world championships and competed at the 1972 Summer Olympics and the 1976 Summer Olympics. State and club rowing Paver was educated at The King's School in Sydney where he took up rowing. He matriculated in 1970. He rowed at university with the UNSW Rowing Club (UNSW) and his senior club rowing was from the Sydney Rowing Club. At the 1971 and 1973 Australian Intervarsity Championships he rowed in the UNSW eight. Paver first made state selection for New South Wales in 1972 in the four seat of the men's eight which contested and won the King's Cup at the Interstate Regatta within the Australian Rowing Championships. Roland George Lyall Paver (born 4 April 1950) is a South African former first-class cricketer. Paver was born at Johannesburg. He was educated in the city at The Ridge School, before going up as a Rhodes Scholar to Pembroke College at the University of Oxford. While studying at Oxford, he played first-class cricket for Oxford University, making his debut against Essex at Oxford in 1972. He played first-class cricket for Oxford until 1972, making sixteen appearances, two of which included playing in The University Matches against Cambridge in 1973 and 1974. Playing as a wicket-keeper, he scored 290 runs at an average of 12.08 and a high score of 34, while behind the stumps he took 33 catches and made five stumpings. Pavement, in construction, is an outdoor floor or superficial surface covering. Paving materials include asphalt, concrete, stones such as flagstone, cobblestone, and setts, artificial stone, bricks, tiles, and sometimes wood. In landscape architecture, pavements are part of the hardscape and are used on sidewalks, road surfaces, patios, courtyards, etc. The term ''pavement'' comes from Latin ''pavimentum'', meaning a floor beaten or rammed down, through Old French ''pavement''. The meaning of a beaten-down floor was obsolete before the word entered English. Pavement, in the form of beaten gravel, dates back before the emergence of anatomically modern humans. Paver (vehicle)
A paver (road paver finisher, asphalt finisher, road paving machine) is a piece of construction equipment used to lay asphalt concrete or Portland cement concrete on roads, bridges, parking lots and other such places. It lays the material flat and provides minor compaction. This is typically followed by final compaction by a road roller. History The asphalt paver was developed by the Charles Burris Co., that originally manufactured material handling systems. In 1929 the Chicago Testing Laboratory approached them to use their material loaders to construct asphalt roads. This did not result in a partnership but Barber Greene did develop a machine based on the concrete pavers of the day that mixed and placed the concrete in a single process. Pavers Ltd, also known as Pavers Shoes, is a family-owned footwear business operating in the UK and Ireland. Pavers currently has more than 100 stores, all managed from the head office in York. The company has grown rapidly in recent years and online. In 2011, Pavers launched its 24-hour TV footwear shopping channel on Sky. Pavers was established by Catherine Paver in 1971, with a £300 bank loan (), initially by organising shoe parties with clearance stock from shoe catalogues. The first shop was opened in Scarborough, along with stores in York and Hull. The shop in Newcastle soon followed. The first shop was opened in 1996 at the Royal Quays outlet centre in North Shields.
