Paulus Af Uhr
Major General Paulus Reinhold af Uhr (25 January 1892 – 28 April 1972) was a Swedish Air Force officer. He also competed at the 1912 Summer Olympics. Early life af Uhr was born on 25 January 1892 in Bondkyrka, Uppsala County, Sweden, the son of builder Otto af Uhr and Anna (née Ferm). He passed ''studentexamen'' in Uppsala on 31 May 1911 and became a volunteer in the Life Regiment Grenadiers (I 3) on 2 June 1911. af Uhr was transferred to the Jämtland Ranger Regiment (I 23) on 1 June 1912. About a month later, af Uhr finished 23rd in the high jump competition during the 1912 Summer Olympics. The Royal Swedish Army Staff College ( sv, Kungliga Krigshögskolan, KHS) was a Swedish Army training establishment between 1866 and 1961, providing courses for army officers. It was the home of the Swedish Army's staff college, which provided advanced training for officers. It was located within the Stockholm Garrison in Stockholm, Sweden. History 1866–1951 The Royal Swedish Army Staff College was the name which that the former Higher Artillery School (''Högre artilleriläroverket'') in Marieberg adopted in November 1866. The Swedish Army then received for the first time a training course for staff officers. The initiator of the 1870s reform of the higher officer training was the Chief of the General Staff Hugo Raab. By promoting an officer training in accordance with academic principles he laid the foundation for today's officer training on a scientific basis. Order Of The German Eagle
The Order of Merit of the German Eagle (german: Verdienstorden vom Deutschen Adler) was an award of the German Nazi regime, predominantly to foreign diplomats. The Order was instituted on 1 May 1937 by Adolf Hitler. It ceased to be awarded following the collapse of Nazi Germany at the end of World War II in Europe. The wearing of the Order of Merit of the German Eagle is prohibited in the Federal Republic of Germany. Criteria The Order of Merit of the German Eagle was a diplomatic and honorary award given to prominent foreigners, particularly diplomats. In addition to awards to non-Germans, the Reich Foreign Minister and the Reich Protector of Bohemia and Moravia received a 'Special Degree' (Sonderstufe), with identical insignia to the Grand Cross of the Order.
