Pauline Opangu
Pauline Opango Lumumba (January 1, 1937 – December 23, 2014), also known as Pauline Opangu, was a Congolese activist, and the wife of Patrice Lumumba, the first Prime Minister of the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Democratic Republic of Congo. She was born in Wembonyama, Sankuru, Belgian Congo. Sankuru District
Sankuru District (french: District du Sankuru, nl, District Sankuru) was a district of the Belgian Congo and Democratic Republic of the Congo. It went through various changes in extent, but roughly corresponded to the modern Sankuru Province. Location A 1914 map shows Sankuru roughly in the center of the Belgian Congo, bordered by Kasai District and Lac Leopold II District to the west, Équateur District and Aruwimi District to the north, Maniema District in the Orientale Province to the east, and Lomami District in Katanga to the south. Sankuru District covered the upper part of the Lukenie River basin and a section of the Lubilash River, which originates further south in Lomami District. Gamal Abdel Nasser Hussein, . (15 January 1918 – 28 September 1970) was an Egyptian politician who served as the second president of Egypt from 1954 until his death in 1970. Nasser led the Egyptian revolution of 1952 and introduced far-reaching land reforms the following year. Following a 1954 attempt on his life by a Muslim Brotherhood member, he cracked down on the organization, put President Mohamed Naguib under house arrest and assumed executive office. He was formally elected president in June 1956. Kinshasa (; ; ln, Kinsásá), formerly Léopoldville ( nl, Leopoldstad), is the capital and largest city of the Democratic Republic of the Congo. Rajeshwar Dayal
Rajeshwar Dayal (1909–1999) was an Indian diplomat, writer, Ambassador of India to the former state of Yugoslavia and the Head of the United Nations Operation in the Congo. Born on 12 August 1909, Dayal was one of the earlier officers of the Indian Foreign Service. He served as the Indian ambassador to the now defunct Yugoslavia from 1955 to 1958 and moved to the UN as a member of the United Nations Observation Group in Lebanon (UNOGIL) when the organization was established in 1958. Dayal, who had earlier served as the Indian Ambassador to France, was appointed as the Head of the United Nations Operation in the Congo in September 1960 and he held the post till May 1961. He also worked as the Representative of the Secretary General of the United Nations. Joseph Lutula
Joseph Bonaventure Lutula La Puku Pene Omasumbu (6 October 1927 – 17 March 2008) was a Congolese politician who served as Minister of Agriculture of the Democratic Republic of the Congo (then Republic of the Congo) in 1960. He reassumed the post in 1961 and held it until April 1963, when he was appointed Minister of Middle Classes and Community Development. He resigned from the government that September. He died in 2008. Biography Joseph Lutula was born on 6 October 1927 in the village of Usumba-Wembo-Nyama, Katako-Kombe Territory, Belgian Congo to a Tetela family. He was schooled by Methodists alongside Patrice Lumumba. In 1947 he moved to Stanleyville and stayed with Lumumba and Paul Kimbulu. Lutula worked as a clerk in the colonial administration.
