Pauline Lecarpentier
Pauline Denise Lecarpentier (born May 1997) is a French freestyle wrestler. She won the silver medal in the women's 68kg event at the 2022 European Wrestling Championships held in Budapest, Hungary. She won the gold medal in her event at the 2022 Mediterranean Games held in Oran, Algeria. Career Lecarpentier won one of the bronze medals in the women's freestyle 68kg event at the 2017 Jeux de la Francophonie held in Abidjan, Ivory Coast. A month later, she was eliminated in her first match in the women's freestyle 75kg event at the World Wrestling Championships held in Paris, France. In 2018, Lecarpentier finished in 4th place in the women's freestyle 68kg event at the Mediterranean Games held in Tarragona, Spain. She won the silver medal in the 62kg event at the Grand Prix de France Henri Deglane 2019 held in Nice, France. Amateur wrestling is a variant of wrestling practiced in collegiate, school, or other amateur level competitions. There are two international wrestling styles performed in the Olympic Games: freestyle and Greco-Roman. Both styles are under the supervision of the United World Wrestling (UWW; formerly known as FILA, from the French acronym for International Federation of Associated Wrestling Styles). The 2021 World Wrestling Olympic Qualification Tournament was the last wrestling qualification tournament for the 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo, Japan. The event was held from 6 to 9 May 2021, in Sofia, Bulgaria. Qualification summary A total of 36 athletes secured a spot in the 2020 Summer Olympics, in Tokyo, Japan. 2020 Individual Wrestling World Cup
The inaugural 2020 Individual World Wrestling Cup was held in Belgrade, Serbia from 12–18 December 2020. It was a replacement event for the 2020 World Championships, which should have taken place in the same location, but since some criteria were not fulfilled, such as not less than 8 top nations from the previous championships to participate, the event is not counted as world championships. The Cup took place amidst the COVID-19 pandemic, which caused this and other problems. The United States for instance chose not to participate.
