Mieka Pauley
Mary Dominica Pauley (born October 22, 1980) more commonly known as Mieka Pauley, is an American singer-songwriter. Personal and career Pauley was born in Boston and raised in Ohio, Kentucky, South Florida, and Colorado, where she attended Cherry Creek High School. She returned to Boston to attend Harvard University, where she entered the local music scene and began performing at coffeehouses and open-mic nights. In 2005, she won the grand prize in the first Starbucks Emerging Artist competition. In 2008, she won the grand prize in both Cosmopolitan's StarLaunch and the New York Songwriters Circle Songwriting Competition, and she was nominated for a Boston Music Award. Edwin W. Pauley Pavilion, commonly known as Pauley Pavilion, is an indoor arena located in the Westwood Village district of Los Angeles, California, on the campus of UCLA. It is home to the UCLA Bruins men's and women's basketball teams. The men's and women's volleyball and women's gymnastics teams also compete here. The building, designed by architect Welton Becket, was dedicated in June 1965, named for University of California Regent Edwin W. Pauley, who had matched the alumni contributions. Pauley donated almost one fifth of the more than $5 million spent in constructing the arena. The arena was renovated in 2010–12 and was reopened on November 9, 2012, when it hosted a men's basketball game against Indiana State. Pauley Perrette (born March 27, 1969) is an American retired actress and singer. She played Abby Sciuto in the television series '' NCIS'' from 2003 to 2018. Early life Perrette was born in New Orleans, Louisiana, and raised throughout the southern United States. She lived in Georgia, Alabama, Tennessee, North Carolina, South Carolina, New York, New Jersey, and California. In a 2011 interview with the Associated Press, Perrette confessed her early ambitions were to work with animals, be in a rock and roll band, or be an FBI agent. Perrette attended Valdosta State University in Valdosta, Georgia, where she studied criminal justice, and later moved to New York City to study at the John Jay College of Criminal Justice. Laura Lynn Pauley is an American mechanical engineer specializing in computational fluid dynamics, including the simulation of cavitation, flow separation, and large eddy simulation, with applications including the design of airfoils, boat propellors, and centrifugal pumps. She is a professor of mechanical engineering in the Penn State College of Engineering, the former Arthur L. Glenn Professor of Engineering Education at Penn State, and the interim executive director of the Penn State faculty senate. Aaron Charles Pauley (born August 4, 1988) is an American singer, songwriter, and musician born in Vacaville, California. He is most prominently known as the lead vocalist and bassist for the American rock band Of Mice & Men and the lead vocalist for Jamie's Elsewhere. He was also formerly the lead vocalist for Razing Alexandria. Biography Pauley grew up in Vacaville together with his parents Randy and Kellie Pauley, and younger brother, Samuel. Pauley first became widely known as Barbara Walters's successor on the NBC morning show ''Today'', beginning at the age of 25, where she was a co-anchor from 1976 to 1989, at first with Tom Brokaw, and later with Bryant Gumbel; for a short while in the late 1980s she and Gumbel worked with Deborah Norville. Graham Austin Pauley (born September 24, 2000) is an American professional baseball infielder for the Miami Marlins of Major League Baseball (MLB). He has previously played in MLB for the San Diego Padres. He made his MLB debut in 2024. Career San Diego Padres Pauley attended Milton High School in Milton, Georgia and played college baseball at Duke University. In 2022, he played collegiate summer baseball with the Cotuit Kettleers of the Cape Cod Baseball League.
