Paulele (foaled 7 October 2018) is a Group 1 winning Australian Thoroughbred racehorse. Background Paulele is a homebred of Godolphin by stallion Dawn Approach, who shuttled to Australia as a stallion between 2014 and 2018. Paulele is one of seven winners bred from her dam, Chatoyant. This makes Paulele a three-quarter brother to the 2013 Thoroughbred Breeders Stakes winner, Montsegur, and a half-brother to the 2016 Canonbury Stakes winner Tessera. Racing career As a two-year-old, Paulele raced on five occasions for three victories, culminating in his first stakes win in the 2021 Kindergarten Stakes at Randwick when ridden by Damien Oliver. Oliver commented on the horse after the race stating, "He is a bit of a weapon this horse”. Dawn Approach
Dawn Approach (foaled 23 April 2010) is an Irish Thoroughbred racehorse. In a racing career which began in March 2012 the colt has won all seven of his races including the Coventry Stakes at Royal Ascot, the National Stakes at the Curragh and the Dewhurst Stakes at Newmarket. He ended the 2012 European season as the year's most highly rated two-year-old colt and was regarded as a leading contender for the 2013 classics. As a three-year-old, Dawn Approach won the classic 2000 Guineas on his first appearance, going on to win the St James Palace Stakes at Royal Ascot. The Winterbottom Stakes is a Perth Racing Group 1 Thoroughbred horse race held under weight for age conditions, for horses aged three and upwards, over a distance of 1200 metres at Ascot Racecourse, Perth, Western Australia in November. Danehill (March 26, 1986 – May 13, 2003) was an American-bred Thoroughbred racehorse who was the most successful sire of all time with 349 stakes winners and 89 Grade 1 winners. He was the leading sire in Australia nine times, the leading sire in Great Britain and Ireland three times, and the leading sire in France twice. Last Tycoon (9 May 1983 – 27 May 2006) was an Irish bred Thoroughbred racehorse best known for winning the Breeders' Cup Mile and as a leading sire in Australia. Background Last Tycoon was bred in Ireland by his owner Richard C. Strauss's Kilfrush Stud Ltd. Racing career He was trained by Robert Collet from his base at Chantilly Racecourse. Sadler's Wells (horse)
Sadler's Wells (11 April 1981 – 26 April 2011) was an American-bred, Irish-trained champion Thoroughbred racehorse and outstanding sire. He was the 1984 European Champion miler after winning the Irish 2,000 Guineas, Eclipse Stakes and Phoenix Champion Stakes in that year. He also finished second in the French Derby and the King George VI and Queen Elizabeth Stakes. Despite his success as a runner, it is as a sire that Sadler's Wells is best known. He was the leading sire in Great Britain and Ireland a record-setting 14 times, including 13 titles in a row. At the time of his death, he had sired 323 stakes winners. Ahonoora
Ahonoora (1975–1989) was a British Thoroughbred racehorse and sire. In a career that lasted from 1977 to 1979 he ran sixteen times and won seven races. Ahonoora was a sprinter who specialised in races over five and six furlongs, with his most important wins coming in the Stewards's Cup at Goodwood and the Group Two William Hill Sprint Championship (now a Group One race) at York. He is primarily notable for his achievements at stud, where his progeny, including Dr Devious, Park Express and Indian Ridge, made him one of the most significant modern representatives of the Byerley Turk sire line.
