Paul Stewart (born Paul Sternberg; March 13, 1908 – February 17, 1986) was an American character actor, director and producer who worked in theatre, radio, films and television. He frequently portrayed cynical and sinister characters throughout his career. A friend and associate of Orson Welles for many years, Stewart helped Welles get his first job in radio and was associate producer of the celebrated radio program "The War of the Worlds", in which he also performed. One of the Mercury Theatre players who made their film debut in Welles's landmark film ''Citizen Kane'', Stewart portrayed Kane's butler and valet, Raymond. Paul Stewart (born 10 July 1987) is a former professional Australian rules footballer who played for the Port Adelaide Football Club in the Australian Football League (AFL). From Adelaide, Stewart started the 2006 SANFL season in the Woodville-West Torrens Under-19s, made his league debut during the season and by the end of year had played in Woodville-West Torrens successful Grand Final. Stewart was drafted by Port Adelaide in the second round in the 2006 AFL Draft, pick number 23 overall. He was part of the young guns Port Adelaide recruited in the 2006 draft, with teammate Brett Ebert saying the group is the best recruits he has seen at the club in four years. Paul Stewart (born 28 October 1956) is a Scottish-American former professional basketball player and a former member of the Scottish national basketball team. Early life Stewart was born in Glasgow to Scottish parents but moved to Canada shortly later. When he was 7 years old, his family moved again, this time to San Diego in California. He played college basketball for Santa Ana College before transferring to Cal State LA in 1975. In 1977 he made the CCAA All-First team. Playing career Professional career After graduating, Stewart had a tryout with the Portland Trail Blazers. After failing to get a contract with the Blazers, he signed with USC Freiburg in West Germany. In August 1978, he signed with ÍR of the Icelandic Úrvalsdeild karla as a player-coach. Paul Andrew Stewart (born 7 October 1964) is an English former professional footballer who played as a defensive midfielder and forward. He notably played top flight football for Manchester City, Tottenham Hotspur, Liverpool and Sunderland, with appearances in the Premier League with The Reds and the Black Cats. Whilst with Spurs he scored their first goal in the 1991 FA Cup final and was awarded man of the match as his team lifted the trophy. Paul Wilbur Stewart (December 18, 1925 – November 12, 2015) was an American historian who founded the Black American West Museum and Heritage Center in 1971. Biography Stewart was born in Clinton, Iowa, to Eugene Joseph Stewart and Martha L. Stewart (née Moor). He served in the United States Navy upon graduating high school, and later settled in Evanston, Illinois, with his brother. Stewart worked at the local post office while attending Roosevelt University. However, he dropped out to help his brother with tuition. Stewart subsequently earned a license from Moler Barber College and worked as a barber in Illinois, Wisconsin, and New York. He moved to Denver in 1962, and opened another barber shop. With the help of his customers, Stewart began collecting Old West memorabilia shortly afterward. As the collection grew, it was moved multiple times. Paul Stewart (born March 21, 1953) is an American former professional ice hockey player and referee. Inducted in the United States Hockey Hall of Fame in 2018, he is the grandson of Bill Stewart. Career Stewart played in both the World Hockey Association and the National Hockey League. He played with Mark Messier for the Cincinnati Stingers. His last season of top level professional hockey was 1979–80 with the Quebec Nordiques. After his playing days ended, he had a lengthy career as an NHL referee. He officiated 1,010 regular season games (including Guy Lafleur's final NHL game), 49 playoff games, the 1987 Canada Cup, the 1991 Canada Cup and two All-Star games. Paul Stewart is a Canadian pianist. Brought up in New Glasgow, Nova Scotia, he started learning piano at the age of five. He initially studied with a local teacher, and subsequently with Tietje Zonnefeld in Halifax, Nova Scotia. At the age of 18 he moved to attend McGill University in Montreal, where he studied with Charles Reiner. He later studied with Kendall Taylor in London and Arturo Benedetti Michelangeli in Italy. He made his orchestral debut in 1981 with the Toronto Symphony. Paul Stewart (February 27, 1892 – November 13, 1950) was an American lawyer, newspaperman, and politician who served two terms as a U.S. Representative from Oklahoma from 1943 to 1947. Biography Born in Clarksville, Arkansas, Stewart moved with his parents, Charles Jackson and Mary Ellen Overbey Stewart, to Poteau, Indian Territory, in 1894. They moved to Red River County, Choctaw Nation, Indian Territory (now a part of McCurtain County, Oklahoma) in 1897. Career At age ten, Stewart became a rural mail carrier, and at thirteen he entered the mercantile business at Spencerville, Indian Territory.
