Paul "Pappy" Rowe (January 25, 1917 – August 28, 1990) was a Canadian professional Canadian football, football fullback (American football), fullback. Born in Victoria, British Columbia, he played for the Calgary Bronks (1938–1940) and Calgary Stampeders (1945–1950). He was captain of the team when Calgary won the Grey Cup in 1948 and played in the finals in 1949. In 1948, he was awarded the Dave Dryburgh Memorial Trophy. He is a member of the Canadian Football Hall of Fame, BC Sports Hall of Fame, Alberta Sports Hall of Fame, Canada's Sports Hall of Fame, and Greater Victoria Sports Hall of Fame. Early life Rowe was born in Somerville, Massachusetts, and raised in Arlington. Paul Rowe (swimmer)
Paul Colin Rowe is a New Zealand-born Australian former swimmer of the 1970s and 1980s. Born in New Zealand, Rowe won national titles in his native country for butterfly and freestyle. He represented New Zealand at the 1978 Commonwealth Games in Edmonton, coming fourth in the 100 metre butterfly. Rowe came to Australia in 1979 for training in the lead up to the 1980 Moscow Olympics, where he had been due to swim for the New Zealand delegation. New Zealand ended up boycotting the games and in 1981 he became a naturalised Australian. At the 1982 Commonwealth Games in Brisbane, he was a member of the Australian gold medal-winning freestyle relay team, as well as a silver medalist in the 200 metre butterfly. In 1986, Rowe retired from competitive swimming and made a switch to water polo. Paul Francis Rowe (22 February 1948 - 25 July 2015) was an Australian representative rower and elite level rowing coach. He was an eight-time Australian national champion in both sweep oared and sculling boats across both lightweight and open divisions. He was Australia's lightweight sculling representative at the 1975 World Rowing Championships. He coached scullers and crews to three Australia national title wins and to world championships and to Commonwealth and Olympic Games.
