Paul Rose (born 1971), known by his online persona Mr Biffo, is a British screenwriter. He was the editor of the Teletext-based video games magazine Digitiser, which ran between 1993 and 2003, and is a BAFTA-nominated writer of children's television. Career Video games In 1993 Rose founded the Teletext-based video games magazine ''Digitiser''. This ran until 2003, with the service reaching over 1.5 million viewers a week. In 2014, the ''Digitiser'' brand returned as an online website titled ''Digitiser 2000'', penned by Rose. This was followed in 2018 by a video series, ''Digitiser: The Show'', a retrogaming magazine show funded through Kickstarter. The programme now takes the form of shorter weekly uploads to its YouTube page, titled ''Digitiser Mini''. Rose has also written for '' Official PlayStation Magazine'' and ''Retro Gamer''. Paul Rose, usually known as Scuba (also known by his SCB alias), is a British electronic musician, now based in Berlin. Described as 'one of dance music's most inventive producers', he has released five albums, numerous singles and EPs, and a handful of compilation and mix albums. His style has been described as dubstep with a later 'shift toward a brighter and more eclectic approach to production'. In 2013, he won an award for Best Live Act from ''DJ Mag''. History Paul Rose began his musical career in late 90s Indie band, Violet, where he played keyboards alongside bass player, Razorlight founder, Johnny Borrell and received his first official song writing credit on the song "Sleepwalking" on the band's only release before acrimonious breakup live on stage where Paul and frontman, David Bartlett, would go on to destroy the venue's PA. Paul Rose (political Figure)
Paul Rose (October 16, 1943 – March 14, 2013) was a Québécois nationalist, a lecturer at Université du Québec à Montréal, convicted murderer and terrorist known for his role in the October Crisis. He was convicted of the kidnapping and murder by strangulation of Quebec Deputy Premier Pierre Laporte in 1970. A Quebec government commission later determined in 1980 that Rose was not present when Laporte was killed, despite a recorded confession. He was the leader of the Chenier cell of the '' Front de libération du Québec'' (FLQ), an armed group which was fighting what they considered the oppression of French Quebecers. On October 10, 1970, the cell kidnapped Quebec Deputy Premier Pierre Laporte. Laporte's strangled body was found in the trunk of a car on October 17.
