Paul M. Sand (October 21, 1914 – December 8, 1984) was an American attorney and jurist who served as an associate jurist on the North Dakota Supreme Court from 1975 to 1984. Early life and education Sand was born in Balta, North Dakota. He earned a Bachelor of Laws from the University of North Dakota School of Law. Career He served in the United States Army during World War II, where he was assigned to the United States Army Judge Advocate General's Corps at in Berlin. He also worked for the United Nations War Crimes Commission. After retiring from the Army, Sand established a private legal practice in Rugby, North Dakota. United States Army Berlin
U.S. Army Berlin (USAB) was a command of the United States Army created in December 1961 at the height of the Berlin Wall crisis. USAB was a combined command with the Headquarters, U.S. Command Berlin (USCOB). This combined organization was sometimes called the "Berlin Command". USCOB/USAB was a separate command from the U.S. Army Europe (USAREUR) which had previously been in command of American troops in West Berlin. The Attorney General's office represents the state government in court cases and issues opinions of points of law upon request. Drew Wrigley was appointed to the position on February 8, 2022, to finish the term of Wayne Stenehjem, who died in office.
