Paul Klein (25 January 1652 in Cheb, Bohemia, now Czech Republic – 30 August 1717 in Manila, Philippines; often used in Spanish: Pablo Clain, Latin: ''Paulus Klein'', Czech: ''Pavel Klein'') was a Jesuit missionary, pharmacist, botanist, author of an astronomic observation, writer, rector of Colegio de Cavite as well as the rector of Colegio de San José and later Jesuit Provincial Superior in the Philippines, the highest ranking Jesuit official in the country. Klein is known as an important personality of life during the 18th-century Manila. Klein is known for writing a standardized Tagalog dictionary as well as the first person to describe Palau for the Europeans and to draw the historically first map of Palau, an act which practically equated to the discovery of Palau. Paul (Paúl) Klein (born 23. November 1915, died 20. March 1992) was a German–Ecuadorian chess master and arbiter. Born in Germany, he emigrated to South America because of Nazi policy. Klein played for Ecuador in the 14th Chess Olympiad at Leipzig 1960. Awarded the International Arbiter title, he was a Head Referee in the 23rd Chess Olympiad, and in the 8th Women's Chess Olympiad, both at Buenos Aires 1978. Paul Robert Klein (1946–2020) was an American art dealer. He owned and operated the Klein Art Works gallery in Chicago until 2004. He was chosen as 2006 ''Man of the Year'' by the Chicago Society of Artists. Life and work Klein owned and operated Klein Art Works, a cutting edge art gallery in Chicago until 2004. Originally located in River North Gallery District, in 1981 it moved to River West in 1989 contributing to the development of that gallery area. He worked for the Bridge Group providing financial and legacy planning for collectors. He was the first executive director of the Chicago ART Project. From 2004 to 2008 he was the art curator for the expansion of McCormick Place, the editor of ''ArtLetter'', and wrote for "Chicago Life" which was distributed regionally in ''The New York Times''. Fred Ebb (April 8, 1928 – September 11, 2004) was an American musical theatre lyricist who had many successful collaborations with composer John Kander. The Kander and Ebb team frequently wrote for such performers as Liza Minnelli and Chita Rivera.
